It works. It's not royalty, it's emergency.
I read all the reviews and thought well about it before I made the purchase. I decided to take a chance and buy one. Cons: Yes, it's smelly (at first), yes it's a bit itchy, no it's not 100% wool. Pros: It keeps you warm, it keeps you warm, it keeps you warm. This is not made for a Duchess, it's made for a back-up, emergency blanket; and it works. The smell: air it out for a day and quit crying. And, for the reviews about it falling apart when washing, keep in mind this is designed for emergency use, not everyday normal use (even though I use mine everyday). I use it as a top blanket over my comforter. The morning after the first night I used it I did NOT want to get out of my bed. It was soooooo warm and the weight gives you a nice, hugging feeling when used above a comforter. After I did finally get out of bed I wrapped up in it to go outside to smoke. It kept me warm then, as well. I switch it between keeping it in my BOB and on my bed at night. If I can't find one any cheaper in price (it's only $18.00), which I doubt I will, I will be buying one or two more.

Good blanket!
Seems to be a very warm blanket. There was a slight oder upon opening the package. I left mine to air out for a couple days before using it. The order is pretty much gone and way over exaggerated by others.

Fell apart, completely ruined my washer
This stiff, itchy blanket arrived with a strong chemical smell. After reading some others reviews on wool blankets (I'm not sure this one actually had any wool in it) I decided to wash it with some natural fabric softener... BIG MISTAKE. My laundry sink (where the washer drains) looked like a small animal had been drowned in it. The blanket completely fell apart in the wash, fibers were everywhere, it was stretched out and ruined. The only thing that didn't dissolve was the smell, which seemed somehow more repugnant than ever. I attempted to pick out all the lint from my sink and washer but unfortunately, it still clogged and flooded my entire upstairs. This blanket is the biggest disaster I've ever encounter in the fabric department. I sincerely hope no member of our military is ever subjected to such awful quality and stench. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Great blanket
Yes, there is a smell at first. It goes away a couple days of airing it out. Thinner, but enough to keep warm. I'm going to buy a couple more to have on hand.

Not military
Its very thin. Not the military ones at all. Still all wool and breathes nicely. I do like it but feel it wont last terribly long.

Pretty decent blanet
This is not an issued us army blanket but it does well even tho the us stamp isnt that great. For people saying its junk cause it fell apart in washers us because they do not know how to do it. Iv washed mine in a washer and it came out in 1 piece. I used woolite detergent, had my washer set on cold/cold delicate cycle and slow spin and my blanket came out fine all together. Once out the washer hang it up so it can dry.
