Great on everything
Had to take a glamour shot of breakfast - this salt is great! :) I now use this in place of regular salt on all foods, especially topping a dish with a pinch to enhance the flavor. I love that the mushroom powder in it naturally enhances flavors so you don’t need to use a lot of salt (in comparison to table salt) so the pack lasts a long time! It also doesn’t have a strong flavor on its own so it works across so many different foods. My favorites are sautéed veggies, eggs, and meats, but you can even use it on desserts! And it’s from a small business in the U.S., which I love to support!

Great Product!!!
Great product! I bought this to spice up my cooking with some new, interesting flavors. I've been trying this on everything and it's a big hit in my house! We've been sprinkling this on everything from eggs to pastas and even salads. The taste is subtle, but it really adds a nice rich flavor that blends well with almost anything. The texture also makes it easier to sprinkle over food by hand. Personally, I like it on veggie-based dishes, but my wife swears they go best on a boiled egg. It's a little more expensive than regular salt, but it's lasting me a while and was well worth the buy.

Game Changer!
I heard about Umami from a show on Netflix (Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat). The salt episode piqued my curiosity about various salts to compliment and bring out flavors in various foods. I am an avid cook and really enjoy the science behind cooking and this is right up my alley.This Umami (Shitake & Sea Salt) is pretty amazing! I tried it on some... get this... mushrooms... when sautéing them for a mushroom, swiss omelet; something I whip up often. The flavor was undeniable. It was fantastic! Umami makes your tastebuds... satisfied. I'm so glad I ordered this! I'm going to use it to finish a ribeye tonight that is currently in the sous vide. (Steak and mushroom (go figure) and hasselback potatoes.)Not sure why some reviews were Debbie Downers on this product. I can definitely taste the mushroom flavor, even without it on mushrooms. Flavors DO take some time to marry and reach their full potential. If you're on the fence, buy it! If you are looking to put some "wow" in your meals, this is a great place to start.

Great flavor enahncer for BEEF
Great on a steak! Only tastes good on beef products tho. Tried some on chicken breasts and it just had an unpleasant mushroomie flavor that didn't go with the meat.

Would recommend. Nice subtle umami to food.
So far so good. Doesn’t taste like mushroom and salt. It’s like salt with msg, it opens your palate with an extra umami to the salt. Just like it says. Just got it a couple days ago and have tried it on a few things. Don’t expect the salt to have a kick and crank up your food. It adds subtle umami to food and isn’t overly salty. The grain is delicate and fine. Almost like a flaky powder. I found the salt to be too fine and light for a salt bowl to use my fingers to sprinkle on and mostly too big for a traditional salt shaker. I was able to pour a whole bag into a salt grinder and it works fine. I would recommend this salt for flavor and the price. Less expensive than other umami type salts I’ve seen.Pictures of the packaging and next to butter dish.

Best Purchase!
Tldr:: a MUST BUY. goes perfect on everything!!Cutest packaging first of all, the barcode the slightly hidden gem. Although, it set some pretty high expectations for the actual product but lemme say they were surpassed! The flavor of this salt is unique, haven’t found another item similar. The flaky texture is quite satisfying as well. I started adding the umami salt to eggs to keep things simple, but have since ventured off that track adding it to .... well everything. Soups, radishes, chicken, zucchini, quinoa, basically - make your normal amazing dish and then season it with this umami salt and it will be improved.There’s a good amount in the double package. I first bought the single and saw myself hoarding it for the most needing dishes, so I buy two every time now and still breeze through it. Stupendous. A grand applause for the chef behind this product.

Umami goodness
This salt is so good! I love it on asparagus and fish. It really adds a nice umami to whatever you put it on. It’s a nice flake, not to small and not to big. Would highly recommend!

Good but not spectacular
Very nice salt, good flakes, but the mushroom powder just doesn’t add enough to justify the cost. Going back to regular salt and adding mushrooms.
