Japanese SHODO Sumi Calligraphy 7 pcs Art set japanese import by JAPANESE cool items store

I have been doing sumi painting for a few years at a class, but still a beginner. I wanted something that I could use at home and found this nice package all in one. Really convenient bc this is all from Daiso Japan, and it is the perfect starter kit for a good value. The seller was very prompt, all items came as described in new condition, and as a Prime member I got my item on the next day (even on a Sunday!).

Pretty overpriced for what it is. They supply you with a sumi ink stick but give you a plastic inkstone which is not meant for a stick. It is only meant for liquid sumi.

My wife is Japanese and lives in the US with me. She picked this starter set up to get back into the practice of shodo again. She liked it. It came as advertised.She did comment on how everything here you could pick up at the dollar store in Japan, but you are paying for the convenience of having it in the US.

This was exactly what I needed for a shodo class I'm taking, however, grinding your own ink takes a lot of time! So, I would suggest adding a bottle of liquid ink to make your life easier if you're planning on practicing a lot. The brushes aren't top notch but are perfect for beginners. Everything came individually packaged and in good shape.

It met all my expectations. Gift for my Son-n-Law.

Seemed like a good deal, but came with bottled ink instead of block. And, more importantly, did not come with an inkwell, making it kind of a pain to use.

Every item is from Japanese dollar shop Daiso. Total value is 600yen, or 6 dollars. Overpriced as 39 dollars. I would never pay 39 dollars for this cheap low quality! super overpriced. This is like a scam. Returning.
