Powerful receiver with multiple connectivity options and classy power packed performance
A top receiver from Denon. Truly powerful with a wide sound stage, impressive highs and punchy bass. Multiple commectivity options and also preouts to add an additional stereo amp. My B&W CM9’s truly jingle with this.

Best in class
Worth every rupee you spend..be aware that receiver is big in quality but requires very much high sensitivity speakers to power. With ordinary speaker it sounds toooooo low .so plan to spend 5 times the amount on good speakers. I prefer klipsch rp280 series.i have just bought receiver.plan to buy speakers one pair a year ..atmos is too good iam using 5.1.4 setup.but 7.1.4 seems a must to enjoy auro3d..so prepare to buy additional amp or try to add active front or surround ones.

Awesome Receiver
Up until now, my favorite AV Receiver was the Sony STR-DN1040.That receiver had excellent sound and features at the time.Unfortunately, the Sony did not have the 4k/HDR pass-through that I needed when I upgraded my TV to an LG OLED.Originally, I had upgraded to the Sony STR-DN1080 which had the 4k pass-through I was looking for, and I figured since the 1040 which was 4 years older had great sound, the 1080 would too.Wrong - at least for me. The punch wasn't there, and there were HDMI handshake issues that I just couldn't get past.I returned the 1080 and saw this Denon came highly recommended, and was $899 - down from the original $1500.While it was a bit out of my range, I needed to complete my home theater and this fit the ticket. After using it for a good month or so, I can honestly say this was a fantastic upgrade. The sound is excellent, the features are numerous, and the on-screen display is even better than the Sony (which has a highly rated GUI).This receiver perfectly passes 4k/HDR to my TV - and it looks and sounds FANTASTIC.I am very happy with the Denon 4400H - and I would highly recommend this receiver to anyone looking to upgrade their home theater setup. The receiver is ready for 9 channels out of the box, and can handle up to 11 channels with a separate amp.I currently only have a 5.1 setup due to my wife's reluctance to add too many speakers, but I think I can convince her to let me add 4 in-ceiling speakers as long as they are flush, and match the color of the ceiling. Once I do that (a future project) - this receiver should really shine with the Dolby Atmos!Unfortunately, I can't comment on the Atmos yet, but I'll update my review once I complete my project.Long story short - if you have a brand spanking new 4k/HDR capable TV, and love music and movies with full, rich sound, you owe it to yourself to upgrade to the Denon AVR-X4400H.Some may say to get the newest version - 4500H - but the ONLY difference between that receiver and this one that I could find, was Denon replaced the Auro-3D sound with Imax Sound. I don't know what the difference is, but to me - it's not worth the extra $600 for a single upgrade (please correct me if I'm wrong).Hands down - I highly recommend this receiver, and can't wait to add Dolby Atmos to my living room!

Excellent
Excellent Reciever.Don't listen to the guy about the remote control problem. I don't even use mine. I just put it away and save it for if I want to sell my receiver. I bought a Logitech Harmony 650, and there are better remotes than that from Logitech. It works fine. It's all I need. And you can program any key because it is a learning remote as well. You just have to remember what key is what. It's not hard. The receiver is very good. I upgraded from a Denon AVR 3311Ci... glad I did. Sounds several times better in quality and compliments my Energy Reference connoisseur RC 30 speakers.I recommend it when it is on sale. I bought it around black Friday at a very good price. Not that it isn't worth it at full price.

Works great with my Q acoustics speakers
I have owned Denon receiver in the past, but this one is a fundamentally different amp in a good way. It's capable of driving my speakers with great energy however what sets this amp apart is the amount of subtlety it brings to quieter scenes. It's reasonably warm sounding so it wouldn't sound harsh at high volumes too. Interestingly I isn't getting very hot too which is a common feedback across reviews. Features wise, it covers a lot of ground. eARC update is available now and needs a firmware update. DTS virtual x isn't available yet. ARC and other device integrations works like a charm. At $899 it's a great value for money. Am using it with my q acoustics 3050i Cinema pack speakers and result is a balanced yet exciting sounds.

Nice to have the option of going to 4 ceiling ...
Loving the upgrade to HDMI and Dolby Atmos. Nice to have the option of going to 4 ceiling speakers for future expansion. Overall decent sound and easy to setup. Toss up between this and the Marantz. I'm guessing the use of fan ventilation vice brute heat sinks helped to cut the cost.
