Handbook of Lost Wax or Investment Casting

Good solid how-to on the subject presented.
This book is a shade too complicated, but expect to work into it.

a lot of information in a small book
may not be a big book, gives the equipment needed to make things easy, tells how and why in an easy step by step method, explains how to mix investment with a vaccume to reduce and eliminate bubbles, using wax extruder to create wax sprues and for jewelry, gives instruction for making your own burnout oven using readily available materials, very informative

Good.
Very informative book, it’s a small book so it goes straight to the point.

Book rewiew
I am very pleased with the contents of this book. It has detail in other aspects of casting/investment molding that I am finding helpful. The oven design is small and must be monitored personally but it has the detail for increasing size and adding a simple temp. controller to make it easier to use.

The book is very dated but still offers the beginner some basic advice that still holds true. It arrived in like-new condition.

Good book if you are new to investment casting.
I didn't learn much more from this book than I all ready knew but it did have a few pointers that I will consider in some of my future castings.

Good info but out of date and a little thin.
This book is a series of pamphlets written quite some time ago when people used asbestos without a second thought.Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the booklet as such. But it is written in a style of many well meaning articles of some time ago, lots of text but not greatly clear descriptions. It says 5 dollar on the cover, for five dollar I would be most pleased to pick this up but times have moved on and the standard of publishing would hopefully produce a better presented book and give more paper for your money. It does give an interesting insight and show a few low cost options for equipment if you can read through the not so clear long winded descriptions. I suppose if you consider paying a premium for what is an outdated book with certainly a little different angle to the subject matter then ok. At the price it's selling at I felt a little cheated. Nothing wrong with the book for what it is just something wrong with selling this book at a price that would buy a shiny, glossy very well produced much heavier and extensive and clear book.Hope this is helpful to prospective buyers.
