Just have to reapply often
The smell is really nice for something used to kill bugs. Easy to use as a roll on and you can apply to even your clothes because you likely cover up so as not to get too much sun and for those buggers to see or smell any skin. The visible part of the skin can certainly be applied too. I think the product is awesome, it is just you have to use more often because it isn't toxic. But that is ok, and it smells good too. Highly Recommended.

Works great!
I applied one swipe down each arm and around each ankle, and then photographed an entirely outdoor wedding in a backyard with a creek and woods. Magically I only got one bug bite, even once the sun went down. My only complaint is the rollerball is very small and I’d love a bigger one that covers more space with each swipe.

My Favorite Repellent
I live in a heavily wooded area where insects are rampant, so finding a good insect repellent is important. This does not work for ticks, but I have yet to find anything that does.It does however, work fairly well with gnats and mosquitoes. I do get some gnats, but not nearly as many as I get when I go without wearing the Insect Shield.I roll it on my forehead, wrists, ankles, back, and the back of my neck.Note - a small amount will do! Don't roll it until the skin is visibly wet! The bottle will last longer that way without affecting performance.I like it so much that I bought the kid safe version for my three year old nephew. The scents are not at all offensive, and there is no skin irritation.

Great Bug Repellent
We used this a couple of years ago in Yellowstone. The mosquitoes were HUGE and aggressive! I had tossed the roll-on in my bag that day as an afterthought. After a few quick dabs on our ears, arms and legs, we could practically see a circle of mosquitoes but they didn’t come close to us! When my oldest granddaughter went to work at a ranch in Wyoming the following summer, she asked me to send a steady supply of this repellent. She had everyone at the ranch asking for dabs before they went on hikes, horseback riding or camping. It can have a strong odor but a little goes a long way. The roll-on fits in a pocket and is easy to use. My family loves this stuff!!

Great Alternative to Aerosol Sprays
Living in Florida, bug protection is a must, and I HATE aerosol sprays. I have recently been using essential oils and actually made my own bug shield with a lot of the same oils as are in this one, but this one is far superior to mine with smell, lightness and effectiveness. The only teeny tiny drawback is the applicator is small, but I suppose that's for convenience of being able to put it into your purse, pocket, etc. I carry mine in my pocket because it's no bigger than a tube of lip balm, which is awesome. Great product and I may be buying some again soon. It's priced just right, and I look forward to learning more about Plant Therapy Essential Oils.

Overall, a win but not perfect
This didn't protect against all mosquitos down at a dog park that's riverside, but it did a pretty good job for the majority. I am happy with the scent, although I was hoping it would be less citronella/lemongrass and more other oils...but I can't complain too much when it does the job and doesn't give me a migraine. I love the roll on container, but I think I am finding that a spray just covers you more evenly, which the bugs like less. So, kind of a mixed bag.

Great Scent, Ineffective
This coconut oil based product smells like lemon drops and absorbs well, but it's not very effective at repelling mosquitos.A concentrated version was recommended after customer service determined this product was overly diluted: Insect Shield (Bug Off) Synergy. Essential Oil Blend. 10 ml (1/3 oz). 100% Pure, Undiluted, Therapeutic Grade. (Blend of: Citronella, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Lemongrass, Lavender, Litsea, Tea Tree, Patchouli & Catnip) . Although that product is better than this one, it still does not provide adequate protection. This version of Bug Off is convenient in this portable size, but it detracts from the product's effectiveness. The applicator is smaller than the area of a glue stick, about the size of a roll-on perfume or valve stem cap making a generous application difficult. To compensate, I've tried rolling the product on the skin and working it around, or rolling a generous amount on my hand and applying. After being careful to cover the exposed skin completely, I continued to get one or two mosquito bites every time.Upon processing my return, Plant Therapy Essential Oils contacted me immediately to resolve the issue. After listening to my concerns, the representative concluded that this version may not have been strong enough for me. She recommended the concentrated version which is not diluted with coconut oil, and offered to send it at no charge.

Smells great, but didn't work for me
It smells nice and that's about it. I put this on myself and my daughter and within 2 minutes of going outside, we were attacked by mosquitoes. I'm not sure if you're supposed to somehow roll it over your entire body, but I think this needs to be in a spray bottle so you can get everything. Maybe the mosquitoes are different in North Texas, but I've tried several other natural (non-deet) insect repellants and this is by far the absolute worst. The others were spray bottles and worked reliably for between 30-120 minutes. Here are the others I've tried and liked.1. Smells very strongly of lemon eucalyptus, which to me smells like a cleaning product but in a good way. Relatives ranged from loving the smell to hating it: http://www.amazon.com/Repel-Eucalyptus-Natural-Repellent-4-Ounce/dp/B004N59OFU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1438810385&sr=8-2&keywords=natural+bug+spray2. Smells like citronella, which some people all love or love to hate: http://www.amazon.com/All-Terrain-DEET-Free-Natural-Repellent/dp/B00AC2R9PA/ref=pd_sim_468_1?&ie=UTF8&refRID=053X7PY1RDH9JN80QPW5I like the smell of Insect Shield Synergy better than the two above, but was so disappointed when it didn't work. I believe there's a version that you can dilute in a spray bottle yourself. I am not experienced with essential oils and thought option for the "pre-dilluted" version would be the way to go. I'm not really sure what to do with it.

Ok product, a bit expensive for what you get.
Not sure how well it works, but this product sure smells nice. One note it’s very expensive considering how quickly it gets used up.
