Limited picture disc vinyl LP pressing. Melissa is the debut studio album by Danish heavy metal band Mercyful Fate, released on 30 October 1983. It was the first album released by Roadrunner Records. This was also the first Mercyful Fate effort to get an official release in the United States through Megaforce Records, as the self-titled EP was a highly sought after import, and the BBC sessions were only available on bootleg tapes.

Pretty Good....with one little hiccup
I was excited to finally get this classic Mercyful Fate album on vinyl and I am mostly satisfied. I didn't want to bother tracking down an original pressing so I went with this reissue. The record looks cool and sounds good overall. Its a picture disc and did not come with an album cover. It arrived in a transparent plastic sleeve with a bar code on the top cover of the sleeve. I would describe the sound quality as clear, lively, and sharp with good volume to the recording. King Diamonds vocals in particular really hit you man. The record itself arrived undamaged and was not warped and did not skip during playback. It was very quiet too with minimal surface noise. The one thing I will point out is that my copy had three clicks during the first few seconds of the song "Into the Coven". I am not going to deduct any stars for that though because the rest of the song sounded very good. I would recommend it if you are a fan of Mercyful Fate and classic heavy metal. I think you will like it.My set-up:Pro-Ject Debut Carbon (Blue) TurntableOrtofon 2M Blue Cartridge and StylusKlipsch R-15PM Powered Monitor SpeakersKlipsch R-10SW Subwoofer

Get this album while you can!
I have been waiting so long for this album to be re-pressed so when I found out it was being reissued, I had to preorder it. It sounds nice and to my surprise, it came as a picture disc! Would recommend to any Mercyful Fate/King Diamond fans!

Decent pressing.
Sounds fine for the most part, though the needle skips the beginning of the B side which is a bit irritating. Not bad for a picture disc though. The thing looks amazing on a table.

I received a record that skips excessively 2x!
Merciful Fate is incredible as is this album. Unfortunately I received a damaged record. I returned it only to receive another damaged record. Won't be ordering this picture LP again.

Skips constantly on first listen.
It’s not great when the first time I play a record it skips constantly. Also the packaging sleeve was already broken on the bottom at delivery. It’s nice to look at but that is it.

Sounds Great!
For starters I want to say that Metal Blade Records does a awesome job with reissues on vinyl. The record I received was packaged very good. I Put the record on my turn table then used my anti static brush on it, then proceeded to play the record and it sounded great.

disappointed.
This was supposed to be a brand new album but it was clearly not. I didn't want a picture disc but I decided to give it a try but it skips like crazy on the first try. i want my money back in full.

Warped
Received this vinyl and it was warped and a visible chuck/scratch.Skipped a lot when played.Didn’t know it was just the picture disc. Didn’t come with any cover. Just came with a plastic sleeve.Returned immediately and got my money back.
