2008 Beijing Olympic Collection 4DVD Set

This is such a great buy! I stumbled upon this and wasn't sure what it was, but I bought it figuring this should be interesting. And it was so much more!! This includes the entire opening ceremony, highlights of the American medals, and full coverage of selected events. Hours of entertainment to satisfy my need for the Olympic theme song since they cancelled the games this summer.

I watched the Olympics as they happened and we had a set we ordered at the time; however, in May 2011 we had a house fire and the DVD's were destroyed so I ordered them again. I will admit I thought I ordered them on Blue-ray but I may not have done so. Either way the individual DVD's came packaged in a case made to hold all the DVD's, and they were indeed wrapped in plastic. However the disconcerting thing was the outer case was not wrapped and only packing tape was placed across the open side of the case. When I gently removed it part of the covering on the cardboard case tore and came off with the tape. Had the case been shrink-wrapped or something it would not have gotten torn.

If your an Olympic fan this is a must buy DVD. The DVD arrived late and lost itself through several states. However, the seller did not lose hope, and the packaged had finally arrived like an Olympic torch. Awesome job, Johnny Adler.

The fabulous opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics needs to be seen, more than once, to really appreciate all the action, beauty and effort which created the fantasy, the beauty and the timeless story of China. Certainly a surprise, the China Olympics in Beijing introduced the many people and the various Chinese skills such as calligraphy in a larger than life fashion. The dvds which focused on the American athletes showed them off to advantage and the set is well worthwhile.

I loved the disc covering the entire opening ceremony the best. Hands down, best one I've ever seen. The highlight disc was awesome and the Michael Phelps one, seeing history being made, was good to see again. Quality of dvd is very good.

I'm convinced that the Beijing Olympics crew put on the most spectacular Olympic Games Opening Ceremony of all time and that is definitely my favourite part of this DVD collection. I have watched it many times and it never fails to inspire me.

I would of liked to of seen more of the track and field. They should of showed more of the women in the track and field, even if they came in second or third place.
