The New InterCourses: An Aphrodisiac Cookbook

Bought this for the other half for valentine's day as he enjoys cooking and we both enjoy intercourse so it seemed like a good investment into the relationship. The book itself is very nice looking, it's hardback with tasteful pictures of nude models wearing the foods that the recipes feature.The foods themselves are supposedly arousing however it appears as though the general idea of the book is that the act of preparing food for your loved one or with your loved one is in itself an intimate experience. Though some of the food may be taken to be sensual to consume ie: strawberries, chocolate, coffee, figs. Figs are apparently aphrodisiacs, as well as black beans, artichokes, rosemary and asparagus so i also learnt something new from this book. Included with the recipes are some little intimate anacdotes from couples concerning the food, and their little romantic experiences, nothing explicit but with plenty of hinting, the personal touch to the book is certainly original and it's nice for the book to contain some romance other than the nude models.The recipes are also good, a lot of them are very original and they encourage you to use ingredients that may otherwise go neglected, the recipes also cover various types of dish including alcoholic drinks, desserts, main courses and the like. Some of the recipes require very few ingredients, some of them contain over a dozen so you can pick a simplistic recipe or a more complicated one depending on how much time/effort you can put into it. Overall, both me and my partner are pleased and it's now the first cookbook to get pride of place in a bedroom rather than a kitchen.

2nd one I've owned. Love the thai chicken wrap and cream cheese/ginger covered grapes. Going to try more of the recipes !

I bought this as a gift for a bridal shower. I don't know the bride too well and I wasn't sure how naughty her gifts would be, but it's a bridal shower so it's supposed to be a little naughty, right? Anyway, it was a big hit. It was the only naughty gift she received, everyone else got her kitchen stuff. I did my research before buying one of these cookbooks. There were several out there, but this one seemed to have the best recipes and was very well organized and appealing. It makes a great gift!

Can't speak to the value of this as an actual cookbook, but I purchased it for a bridal shower and it was a big hit. I paired it with a cutesy apron and it drew big giggles and blushing from the bride-to-be. Recipes sound good/normal and not weird like I would have expected. I may have been the only one to go off the registry and mine was definitely the only gift passed around. Not much fun for everyone to watch to bride unwrap a bunch of presents she already picked and we all chose from!

A different type of cookbook from others I have purchased! The recipes are quite inventive without being overly fussy. I'm not sure about the effectiveness of the aphrodisiac aspect, but the tie-ins are interesting to read. I purchased this as a shower gift for a young couple who enjoys experimenting with cooking. My idea is that it should provide oohs and ahs at the shower when passed around!

Great recipe book and i just love finding a conversation piece addition to my collection of cook books

I love this book. I even added a receipt from the book in a paper I did on how people explore the more adventurous sides of sex. I actually got an A+ on the paper.I just wish I could get a copy for my Kindle.

I've had this book for a number of years, and I love it still. The photography is beautiful, the stories from different couples delightful, and the food delicious. The recipes are definitely doable, and a number of them are made in our household year round.

I love hippo! If I have a choice, even if its a little more, I choose hippo. I can count on fast accurate delivery.

I got this as a bachelorette gift a few years ago, and although I've never made anything from it, it's been fun to skim through. I bought this for my best friend for HER bachelorette party THIS year, and she LOVES it. She claims to have made several dishes, but not noticed anything 'special' for dessert. ;) The book is in great condition and a fun piece to add to a bachelorette party gift/party! :) Very clever.

A friend of mine turned me on (ha ha) to this book when I was frantically looking for a suitable bridal shower gift for my sister. I ordered it a few days early with the intent to try out one of the recipes so that I knew the quality of what I was getting her.I was not disappointed. In fact, my mind was blown.I found a recipe for braised quail with grapes and pancetta. I arranged for the children to be away, spent a wonderfully furious hour and a half in the kitchen, and served up one of THE most memorable meals I have ever had--better even than eating at most top notch restaurants in town and at a fraction of the cost.None of the ingredients in our recipe were aphrodisiacs in and of themselves, but my husband and I spent the entire meal exclaiming over the flavors, licking our fingers, and grinning at one another in an ecstasy of sensory marvels.Needless to say, the cookbook was a huge hit at the shower, and I am now ordering a copy for myself. Valentine's dinner will be cooked from this book this year!
