"A novel that transcribed all my visions for perfection into a beautiful, converged perception."
I got my copy delivered to my doorstep on 17th August, 6 days after I ordered. A bit late than what I expected from Amazon. Still, the product was finely wrapped and had crispy fresh pages. It was the rainy evening of 22nd August when I began reading this book with a thought-provoking, intriguing cover. Soon, I finished up to about half within 3 hours in a single sitting, and then, you know, I stopped. Not because I was tired but because I didn't want this amazing story to end ever.During the following weeks, I read a chapter a day, slowly but eagerly. And since yesterday, after I finished the book, I still carry the same feeling. A strange happiness engulfs when you come to know such dynamic and emotional characters along with the tripping impact they strongly made on soul. In a single sentence, I have been transformed to a better, more responsible being and more focused in life. It is kind of sad, still a beautiful novel from the overall view.It is a good effort by the debutant author. Hope her second one will be even better. Thanks to IAS Officer Chhavi Bhardwaj for writing this book.

“Not a soul-biting piranha as expected, but this is a goldfish for every aquarium.”
Just finished off reading Like A Bird On The Wire. I would have rated it 4/5, but seeing that it is the debut work of the author, IAS Officer Chhavi Bhardwaj, I am giving it a straight 5. The enthralling and edifying story of Nethra and Avinash is an experience to feel. The language is up-to-the-mark and some quotes like “Suffer. You are a part of me. So, suffer with me.” are heart-rending. The story is captivating yet quite slow at a few places. But, its sudden twists and unexpected end covers it all.I would happily recommend it to every avid reader and truth seeker.A terrific job!

Excellent book which will mesmerize you
Excellent book which will mesmerize you from the beginning itself. By the time you are done with initial chapters, you would be keen to know how it unfolds. The emotions of each of the characters are captured amazingly, with details so fine that you start imagining the characters, as if you have known Avinash and Nethra personally ☺ Can’t wait for writer Chavi’s next book to be published.

Complicated and boring
Read few chapters. No connection in any chapter till the pages 130 I read. Cannot finish it. No pull in story which can force to complete. Seems the author is inspired by Shashi Tharoor, used several complicated words not used in Indian fiction writing. Seen several good reveiws but the author is DM by profession...

A must-read book for every wannabe bureaucrat!
I have been preparing for the UPSC and state-level competitive exams for the last 2 years. I must say that this novel has given me a brilliant insight into the lives of IAS officers. The attitude and sense of responsibility they carry is definitely something the interviewers look for during the selection process. Now, after reading Like A Bird On Wire I can say that I am more confident and determined to crack the UPSC exam in my very next attempt only. Thanks, Chhavi ma'am for writing this one.

A superbly crafted literary delight ! Simply un-putdownable!
An exhilarating treatise on love, longing and loss in contemporary India! The characters are so beautifully sketched , they captivate the reader's imagination , tickle them, bring tears and make the heart ache ! It's an unputdownable work of fiction as close to reality as it can get! The author has displayed the wealth of her philosophical ponderings and that resonates deep within everyone who sees human relations as the most intriguing aspect of life. Cannot wait to lay my hands on another such literary delight by the author!
