CUBE

very confusing as i already know to solve cube i thought of learning a diff method but it will take a lot of time in understanding this stuff so my suggestion think and buy what is the use if the book is not understood by a layman like me

A nice cube that works as advertised. It's fast and solid. The presentation of the cube is beautiful, you won't want to throw the box :) Just for fun I used a silicone spray and now it's even faster. Smooth and you can use one hand to move the cubes. Highly recommended.

No me gusta.Lo compré por la solución del 4x4x4. El libro tiene capitulos interesantes, como la historia y la parte de David Singmaster. El papel es basto, los colores no son los habituales del cubo. Usan colores apagados y poco atractivos. La notación tampoco es la habitual. En fin, tendré que adaptarme al libro, cuando esperaba que el libro fuera más atractivo, me cuesta cogerlo otra vez.

Yes this book does have solutions for solving the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and even 7x7 cubes. However their solutions are designed to be "beginner" solutions in that they are fairly easy to learn but not super-efficient in terms of getting the fastest possible times. There are other books that provide faster (i.e. more difficult to memorize) algorithms for solving a Rubik's Cube.Where this book really shines is as a historical guide to the Rubik's Cube and other related puzzles. A good chunk of the book is devoted to the origins of the original Rubik's Cube and how it came to be a worldwide phenomenon in the 80s.There is also a large section devoted to other puzzles that have been inspired by the Rubik's Cube. Many of these custom puzzles are truly amazing. There are a lot of nice full color pictures of the various puzzles to dazzle you (or drool over if you collect puzzles). This book is very current, containing puzzles created as recently as 2008.Anyone who loves Rubik-type puzzles will absolutely love this book. And even the casual cuber will likely enjoy the wealth of information packed into this book.

La moitié du livre est purement narrative et porte sur l'histoire du cube ; beaucoup d'illustrations et de photos, plutôt jolies. L'autre moitié porte sur la résolution du cube, avec beaucoup de schéma explicatifs. Malheureusement la méthode de résolution adoptée par les auteurs n'est pas la plus courante, et cette méthode devient particulièrement lourde pour les "gros" cubes (4x4 et au dessus). C'est l'occasion cependant d'apprendre quelques algorithmes qu'on ne trouve généralement pas ailleurs.
