My son loves this movie. He is a total Simpsons buff, so he has watched it three times. Surprisingly, it keeps a good pace. Sometimes when TV shows are made into movies, they are painfully slow or short of material. Not so with this movie. It moves and is full of what we love of the Simpsons.

Well Worth The HD Transfer
As a lot of people have written a review of the actual film, I thought I'd comment on the Blu-Ray edition: as it's quite a good transfer. You get a good solid 5.1 HD audio track, which is very clear and the vocals are well mixed. The video is crisp and look cinematic: with an average of 35Mbs - the 2:40:1 anamorphic widescreen does look a bit claustrophobic, but it's realistic. The extras are a bit thin on the ground sadly, but at least they're the same as the DVD release, fun stuff including Homer's appearance on Jay Leno, a 19 second short about The Lobby - just like the clips you see in US cinemas and some American Idol stuff. There are around 6 trailers for the film itself, but as they're not HD it's not really worth talking about, as it's just like the DVD release. You can listen to the commentaries which is good too.Otherwise this is worth it for the movie, it's good fun and will probably be watched time and time again. Shame they didn't make full use of the blu ray abilities, but that's the way the donut crumbles.5/5 for the film, 3/5 for the blu-ray, excellent transfer, but could have had more interactivity.

Released in 2007
Second time watching this movie in almost ten years! and most of the jokes still resonate today. Our sides were hurting from the extremes the Simpsons family went through and their very relate able struggles. It's a family movie that emphasizes dysfunction and how to pull together even when all seems lost. And it was the 3rd time I bought this movie because it dared to defy CGI animation in a time when that was far more popular, when a lot of controversial animation shows were taking other risks and blurring the line between what is acceptable for adults and what is NOT acceptable for children. I will be watching this again and again. That is saying a lot in an overkill entertainment age.
