An unexpected gem!
I picked it up at a CD fair (which may have all stopped now that we have the internet?) and I love it. I used to buy at least one 'gamble' each fair, someone I had no previous knowledge of, but by the cover notes could be my bag, and i've discovered some great music i would have never known about otherwise. It's easier now with sampling tracks on amazon but there's so much choice! Where do you start?!Elisa has a lovely voice, and the songs are poignant and heartfelt. I'm on here now to buy more albums, none of which were easy to find back in the day! Trawling round indi backstreet shops or asking in Our Price only to find they're now deleted, ah the nostalgia...Buy it, try it, love it!

A great cd with good lyrics and quality tunes..
I picked this cd by chance. It only cost me 29 norwegian kroners (2 pounds), and i did'nt expect to get much back for that. I was totally stunned that i could get a cd of this quality for that price. Starting with the first song The Labyrinth, a truly great song... After listening to the cd a few times i started liking every song.If you like Alanis Morisette, without some of her aspects this is a quality buy !Jorgen

excellent debut
First heard this CD whilst in Milan and thought, Oh thats quite good. Bought it, listened (repeatedly) and have to say that it is a great debut album and cannot understand why it was never released over in the UK.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
I really really really really LOVE Elisa's music! Since I saw here a couple of months ago on MTV with "Come Speak To Me", I listen to her album all the time. Other artists don't interest me anymore (except for EMINEM of course !!!) Her songs are just GREAT, there don't exist any words to describe it!!!!! Labyrinth is my absolute favourite - espacially the "yodeling"parts!!! It ROCKS!!Just buy it and you'll see how great she is!!!kisses, anijsjePS: I'm sorry for the bad English, but I'm Flamish so my mothertongue is Dutch ... :-S

something wonderful....
One of my favourite albums... elisa has a great voice, she is able to write wonderful songs, to produce them by herself and to perform them in a strongly emotional way. In this first work, she maybe shows still signs of "immaturity", but there clear signs of her talent, expecially in songs like labyrinth, sleeping in your hands, a feast for me. Something magical is in her songs, a sense of great passion related to purity... something really difficult to explain...the fact that a lot of people abroad is interested in her first cds means that she really would deserve a better promotion from sony, so keep supporting her and her music!Hi from Italy..Matteo.

A True Artist
Elisa and her album Pipes and Flowers was a breath of fresh air in the stagnant world of young artists and music. Unlike other young artists out there, Elisa writes her own lyrics, plays instruments, and produces her songs. On top of that, the music is great!!I bought Pipes and Flowers while in Italy back when she released the first single Labyrinth. What can you say about her? She can write, sing, play, and produce. If you are tired of hearing those so-called "studio produced artists", get this album. It's great!!
