A solid winter parka at an incredible price
[Edit one year later]After one year of use I am very pleased with this anorak. I purchased a size small and wore this anorak on just about every cool/cold weather camping trip this past year, as well as daily dog walks and errands around town. It is rugged, comfortable, and works very well.[previous review]I bought this anorak parka for winter camping, and for cooler weather hiking. Overall I love this jacket, and think it is a great addition to my kit. And while I'm not a camo guy, I really like the City Camo pattern, and have gotten a lot of compliments on the jacket.Originally I purchased a size large, thinking I needed extra room for layering in cold temps. When I tried on the large, I realized I could have invited my neighbors to join me inside the jacket, played cards, and have room for chips and dip. Yes, the jacket runs large. I returned the large, and ordered the medium, which fits better (see picture) but which is still roomy. I'm 5'9" and 180lbs, and I've got plenty of room for a puffy underneath (and possibly a PB&J.) The jacket has a smooth nylon liner, but otherwise is not thermally insulated. However, given the heavy denier nylon, plus the nylon lining, this jacket will do nicely as a rugged top layer for camping and cooler fall, mild winter, and spring conditions. And while this jacket isn't waterproof, I think it will work well in snowy conditions. The jacket has a droptail hem in the back so that it covers your butt (similar to a cycling or crew jacket that rides lower in the back.) I didn't realize this from the stock photo, and really like this additional feature. The pass-through front pocket is nice, and will work nicely with a backpack hip belt. The kangaroo pouch in front is nice - the velcro pad is strong, and the zipper adds to a feeling of security. When I'm camping I like to keep my lighter and fire-starters handy, and I like the front pouch option. The zippers are all brass, which are rugged but not as easy to zip up and down. The side zippers are great, as I can open up the jacket if I get too warm without taking it off. Also, pulling the jacket on and off with the side zippers un-zipped is very easy. If you plan to use this jacket for skiing or snowboarding just remember there is no powder skirt. Here's what I don't like about the anorak parka:1. The sizing is roomy, as I mentioned above. If I buy a second one most likely I'll buy a size small for a better fit.2. The hood does not have any sort of drawstring. Earlier today I was out in the rain, and didn't get a lot of protection for my face as the hood was so roomy that it sort of lifted up as the rainy came in at an angle. With my primitive sewing skills and a little attitude I'm going to fashion a drawstring using shockcord and toggle locks. However, this is annoying, as most jackets with a hood have some sort of drawstring.3. This is nit-picky, but the jacket doesn't have a hang tab inside the collar, or at the bottom of the hood in back. I don't buy a car because of a cup-holder, but a hang-tag inside the jacket would be nice.Overall I'm happy with this jacket and can't wait to take it out into the woods. The jacket is comfortable, durable, has good pocket options, and looks great. This jacket is an incredible value and I am very pleased I bought it.

Sharp Looking Jacket
This is a nice fitting jacket. In my normal size the shoulder seams are perfect. But, it fits closely compared to most jackets. That makes it look crisp and tailored. The length is low hip and the rear is longer. The sleeves are also long. I have a wing span over 76" and the sleeves come to my 2nd knuckle. Refreshing since most sleeves are 2" too short! Rothco promotes this jacket for concealed carry, but with the close fit, it doesn't work. There is no way to pull it up enough to access your pistol. The side zippers are supposed to help, but the light canvas-like material is too soft to unzip with one hand. Two hands is stupid slow and leaving the zipper unzipped doesn't conceal much. So if you want to carry concealed with this jacket, buy at least one size too large.I like it. I'm gonna keep it and I recommend it with the caveat above. It's 3 days old, have no idea if it's durable.

Right size to wide
I really like the coat just the only thing I didn't like was its a little wide I use a sweater with it. I'm 5'11" 188.

They have made some improvements!!
I am buying this anorak for more as a windbreaker and rain shell. An application of silicon water repellant makes it shed water much better than without. I especially like how mine that I bought in February of 2021 has nylon zippers instead of the brass ones shown in the pictures. And no one mentioned that there is a zipper under the arm down to the waist on either side that aids in putting it on and taking it off. I took a wood burner and very carefully put holes on either side of the hood to install a paracord drawstring. This anorak is very thin and provides not much in the way of insulation but if you get one a size larger it will allow you to bulk up underneath for warmth. All in all a really useful piece of kit.

Great Anorak, mostly
Overall very pleased with the jacket. Material and construction are good. Outer material comparable to bdu, maybe a bit thinner. Lining makes on and off easy. It also blocks wind noticeably. Lining is fairly noisy and traps sweat if you're active. Side zips help venting and allow access to items on a belt. Neck zipper lacks a flap underneath so metal zipper touches neck when fully zipped. Hood is roomy but lacks a drawstring. Hand pocket is ample and pouch above it is good sized. I really like this anorak in cool weather. Not so much if it's hot or I'm really active.

Functions as Intended
I use this hunting/scouting and Overall I like it...an early season outer garment suitable for temps down to around 50F. There is room under it to wear a heavy sweatshirt or similar layer, but not anything else. Gave it four stars as wish it was a loser fit...it is a more of a snug fit; I am 5 10 and 225 and the XL fits. The front zippered pocket is very roomy and easy to access.

Already one of my favorites
This has already become one of my favorite outdoor and everyday wear items. It is rugged, comfortable and very useful. It's too warm for Texas summers and it's not the warmest thing either, but it's good enough for most North Texas winters. If you use it anyplace with real cold, get a size larger so you can layer something warm underneath it like a sweater or just get a dedicated winter parka. My only complaint about this (and all anoraks really) is that the big center pocket is almost too useful and tempts you to dump anything and everything in there.

Generous cut. Good fit.
This fit is very comfortable. It is a lighter weight jacket, but it allows me to layer due to a generous cut. The outer shell material is blend that will stand up to some abuse. The only negative is the hood doesn't have a draw sting to pull it tight in the wind. The "channel" is sewn into the hood for a string but there aren't any holes. I'm working out how to neatly add the holes / string. Good 3-season jacket. I'd buy it again.
