As many have noted, the light is not without its shortcomings. Since it uses "standard" LED bulbs (vs. SMDs) it's not extremely bright, but this wasn't an issue for me.Being able to independently aim the solar panel and light is a big plus if the location doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight. It's also quite well put together and, after 2 years of use still looks all but new. The solar panel, unlike others I've purchased, is not faded or delaminating. The aluminum case is not chipping or peeling or showing the effects of having lived through 2 years of Pacific Northwest weather (ranging in this time between 10 and 115 degrees).What sets this light apart is the company selling and warranting it. I'm sure we've all bought things here with a generous warranty period, only to find that a few months or a year later, the company is either out of business or no longer selling on Amazon.With the days getting shorter, I noted that 3 of the individual LEDs in my unit were no longer working. I wrote to the seller on Sunday morning, hoping there was a chance I'd get lucky. Within hours, I had a response offering me a free replacement. All I had to do was provide the order number.The representative I communicated with was polite and professional, and most of all ... helpful. In my mind, this makes this item worth purchasing.

Purchased this product for my patio. It does exactly what it says!! I keep it on dim, and it goes on high when someone walks in front of it. The dim mode is great bc it you barely notice it. So, when the high beam is activated, it is very obvious. I love that it is solar powered—no wiring or batteries. It was easy to install!! I will definitely purchase another.

UPDATE: Not durable. 3 of the 8 LEDs have gone out in 6 months. Seller immediately shipped a free new replacement unit without requiring a return of the defective unit, but it's a hassle to remove/reinstall so soon. Otherwise, sturdy aluminum as described. Brief instructions included. The on/off switch is on the backside of the solar panel marked "Low-Off-High" which is misleading because it's really just an on/off switch. The 2 modes mentioned in the website listing as well as the low/off/high markings at the switch apparently refer to the automated function, that is, when on, it will default to low illumination all night except motion be detected when it will automatically switch from low to high illumination for 20 seconds and return to low illumination again. One reviewer reported 4 of 8 LED chips failing at 7 months. My experience is only 2 nights. I can neither yet testify to its LED longevity nor to its weatherproof performance. I will try to remember to update accordingly.

I have put three of these around my house!I love the fact that is it made from aluminum, can definitely withstand the outside temperatures.It shines brightly and at a good distance so I can see around my house, even when it is dark. And, I love the fact that if you encounter any problems, the seller will replace, at no extra cost!These solar motion detectors are well worth the money, easy to install, no problems after close to a year.

It's perfect for our needs, super easy to install with no outlet required, and it does its job while looking classy and homey. I installed it in our new carport so we could easily see at night. It fits perfectly on a corner that gets a lot of sun. The solar panel sticks out just enough to soak in the sun during the day, and the light itself faces the car. It stays off during the day and, at night, it gives a soft warm glow when not in use. When it detects motion it gives off a nice bright warm light that is not blinding but is perfect for making our way from carport to house. I love it.

I bought two of these lights to replace my Mr Beam MRN3000 security lights which quite working after 2 years of use due to water infiltration. These lights are much brighter than the Mr Beams and a much greater value for the money. Time will tell, but so far, with 2 months of use, I am very satisfied.

Bought this light half expecting it to either not light up my driveway gate entrance or not hold a charge for long. Wrong on both counts! Installed it in the winter on a utility pole and set it to light dimly dusk to dawn and kick on bright with motion detection. The dim light stays lit ALL NIGHT and the LEDs kick on extra bright any time the motion detector senses movement during that time. 3/4 of a year later the battery still holds perfect charge and powers the light dusk to dawn. Buy with confidence!!

Wish the charging panel swiveled some 90 degrees or something. Its in a fixed position so up and down is all you get and this limits your mounting options, the nightime lighting to being daylight sun facing directions. Overall pleased with it. Light is bright, motion detection is sensitive but not overly sensitive and the construction is sturdy so should last a good couple years... happy enough for the price.
