Call of Duty Advanced Warfare - Day Zero Edition

When compared to Call of Duty Ghost, this game shines far above it. This entry can compete with the top tier of Call of Duty entries. The campaign mode is solid with excellent voice acting and decent plot. Survival was fun with a good amount of fun and variety. Multiplayer is for those with the quickest of reflexes and love the twitch shooter genre. I enjoyed the time I spent with this game. I'd recommend for any first person shooter enthusiast.

Sledgehammer has done it, they have brought a new way to play COD. COD AW is great, the exo suit and abilities add a extra bit of fun to the game. I have only played the multiplayer (online) portion and I am very happy I purchased the game. When I first found out that the exo suit would be part of online play and have exo abilities, I was a bit worried that you would end up being dependent on using those abilities. I have been playing COD online since COD 2 on PS2 when you could not even customize a class and that is why I was a bit worried about having to become extremely good with the exo abilities to survive. Thankfully Sledghammer balanced out the exo suit nearly perfectly.Using the exo suit gives you a good advantage because you can move throughout the map very fast and can jump through windows and on top of nearly every building/object. However, there is enough cover (buildings/objects) for you to run under/to that if you stay on foot for a bit, you will be okay. Additionally having the exo abilities have limited run time assistance in preventing the suit from being over powered. On a closing note, I really enjoy having the Pick 13 (Pick 10 on COD BO2) and scorestreaks because you can truly have customization and like myself, I do not like having a secondary and would rather have 3 attachments on my primary. With the scorestreaks it is great because you get rewarded for calling in a UAV or any other support type scorestreak which helps the team and at the same time you get some points, so you can get your higher scorestreaks a bit faster. The new ability to add customization to your scorestreaks, such as extended time on the UAV is great and adds many new ways to play the game. COD AW is what the COD franchise needed, enjoy the game.UPDATE (11-09-14)After playing the game and prestiging, there is a portion of the multiplayer that is a bit disappointing. First off, if you prestige you get to have one item of any choice be permanently unlocked, which is sweet. However, all of your progress stats for challenges (Calling Cards and Emblems) will be reset unless you have completed that challenge. For example I unlocked the X-Ray Vision Calling Card, so after I prestiged I was still able to have that set as my Calling Card since I unlocked it, However, if I look at that challenge it will show that I never completed it since I have prestiged. One last note is all of your attachments unlocked for your weapons will be reset and you will have to unlock them every time you prestige unless you use your permanet unlock towards an attachment.So whether it is for a game mode, weapon, score streak or any other challenge, unless you complete it 100% before you enter prestige, you will lose all of your progress.

I'm not finished with the game yet but a review should be based on the amount of satisfaction one receives from a product right? After being immensely let down by Destiny and enjoying a game like Titanfall (PC) it's nice to see that after last year's Ghosts that the franchise is (what appears to be) coming back on track. The story has me hooked like the original Modern Warfare. Hell even Ghosts had a good campaign and it's sad most people only play this for the multiplayer It's nice to see the developer Sledgehammer actually put in some effort on this installment to make the gameplay seem fresh. I dabbled a bit in the multiplayer and I am definitely not a guru at it, the maps are interesting and the loadouts are fantastic and the Titanfall-esque (Though this game has been in development long before Titanfall had been announced) gameplay is enough to keep you playing for hours. The epic cinematic moments are back in the campaign and it's the release that next gen has been waiting for. The graphics are something out of this world...So much detail in the environments and particle effects The cutscenes look fantastic and Kevin Spacey does an amazing job on voice and mo-cap Troy Baker as always has an amazing voice performance, very emotional. On PS4 it runs at 1080p and a smooth as silk 60FPS with occasional dips during the campaign but the multiplayer is constant at 60FPS. One thing I almost forgot to mention, the sound design is FLAWLESS! It's very immersive through a home theater or a good set of headphones.

Better than Ghost...immediate difference..played a little campaign (fun) but the muliyiplayer is better than ghosts.i played multiplayer for a couple of hours and enjoyed it a lot,as usual for me it takes time to get used to new load out system and weapons, but once you get the hang of it,a lot of fun.I will have no problem playing this Cod for the next 12 months unlike ghosts which was in my opinion really lame and I'm a huge Cod fan. I confess I am more comfortable with FPS games like this on a pc rather than a console.The game looks great. Good graphics and feel. There's a good dose of 'cinema' stuff that you just get to sit and watch, but they're pretty well done.There are some things I am very not blown away by:As a comparison to another FPS (BF4) you have little control over the mode of your weapons. Chances are you're going automatic whether you like it or not.You do get taken to a 'range' to play with stuff. You'll need to, and you may want to go through it handful of times to make sure you catch some of the very quick instructions that can leave you hanging if you miss out on them. It will finally give you an idea how to make all the toys work.I intensely dislike games that decide to change the control sensitivity and make the challenge you have to overcome, rather than having to overcome a strategy, or you know, actually think you're way through something.I highly recommend playing this game where you won't get distracted. It waivers between needing to pay some close attention, to where you sit back and watch the movie segment.

Came on day zero like they promised. Game is good, people always say cod is the same thing every year, but then they complain so much about sledgehammer for changing things up and creating a fresh game. With that said, COD is still cod, but this is the best one ive playing since the MW2 days and i loved MW2. Im really enjoying this game at the moment...

I was skeptical about this game. I've been enjoying the series less and less ever since Black Ops and after Ghosts came out, I told myself I would skip out on this one.After reading early reviews for the game, I changed my mind and decided I would give Advanced Warfare a chance, and I'm glad I did! The campaign is amazing. The exo abilities you get to use during missions are great and the characters have depth that really add to the already great storyline.The online portion feels quite different and exciting with the addition of exo abilities and really adds a new perspective on the COD formula.I'd recommend this to anyone!
