Cars Toons: Air Mater Read-Along Storybook and CD Paperback – September 25, 2012

My son loves to read and make up his own version of stories, and Mater's Tall Tales all generally follow a simple formula: Mater tells a skeptical Lightning of something outlandish that Mater did once upon a time (hence Tall Tales), and then getting into terrible danger, prompting Lightning to wonder what Mater did to escape the danger. And that's when Mater responds, "Oh, you know what happened. You were there!"Air Mater is no different, and involves Mater becoming a plane and then a stunt plane.There's even a guest appearances of a Disney's Planes character (and this story was made before the movie was developed).Whatever the case, know that your child will have fun listening to this story. And if you have a child who enjoys making up stories of his own, this gives an example of the Tall Tales formula. We have listened to this and the Moon Mater story several, several times in the car. We definitely got our $6.50 usage out of it. More importantly, these Read Along books (particularly the ones that your child is motivated to read on their own) helps your child progress in reading independently. If your child likes silly stories or Cars characters, I highly recommend this book/CD.

I put this on the iPad for my son for long car rides, keeps him busy and happy!!!

Great little story. It entertains our boys on car trips- what more could we ask for?!

My son loves this story. It's quirky and has very good illustrations. It's short enough for a quick drive to the store or daycare. The narrator has a pleasant voice and the characters voices are also used in the narration, as well.

I love these read along books and so does my 2-1/2 year old son. However, this one is a little too fast paced for him, and loud, and he can't keep up with the page turning like he can in some of the others. I expect in another year this book will be better for him.

Great for the car rides as the kids love to hear the story while they read along in the back seat.

good stuff - wish all the Disney stories were available with the CD and read-along book! I would love to find some of the older stories (Hercules, Hunchback of Notre Dame) in this format.

If you have Cars fans in your home, this is very cute and a great addition to the collection. Our little boy loves to be able to read along to the CD.

Who doesn't like a read-along storybook? The story was very cute and held everyone's attention. A great addition to your CARS collection, or on its own.
