I am enjoying my kettle so far. It is really pretty, fast and all metal. Whether it's worth all the money spent I will see with time. If it lasts, it is definitely worth it!

Purchased in February 2018. Has worked fine.Has suddenly stopped boiling. I opened up the base of the kettle & inspected the quite complicated Switch mechanism. Looks like the contact reeds have grown flimsy.Have contacted Ottoni Customer Services to ask if they sell spare Switch gear.

When this kettle arrived I was pleased with both the design and colour. It has no plastic in contact with the water, which is the main reason I bought it. For almost a year it performed well. Then I needed to clean the filter. I removed the filter carefully, but even so the handle came away. It was fastened by crimping the two pieces together and the joint had come apart. I wrote to find out if it was covered by a guarantee, but was told it would cost 15euros plus postage, which seemed excessive.I continued to use the kettle, but in the second summer, I was pouring boiling water into the teapot, when I realised that steam was coming out from the base of the handle and burning my arm. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does it’s very dangerous. Stains have formed on the kettle below the handle where the steam has condensed. Finally, the automatic cut off when the water is boiling has just stopped working.I am very disappointed. I thought of a kettle that cost as much as this as an investment, but It needs to be replaced after only four years. The idea of a kettle which has no plastic touching the water as it boils is excellent, but the production doesn’t match the design standard and I wouldn’t buy another.

I bought this kettle for the simple reason of trying to avoid any kind of plastics inside. As such this kettle has been designed with that in mind. Bearing in mind it is not cheap, you'd have a reasonable expectation that it has to earn its money.**************************************************The good points:As you can see from the photo, the plastic, overhead handle is attached externally - nothing inside.The lid has a plastic knob but again it is all external.The kettle is solid and boils quickly.The spout is wide and you can pour very quickly.The company will fit and ship with a metal mesh filter on request to make sure absolutely no plastics inside.The company are very helpful in questions and problems.**********************************************The not-so-good points:The beige base has a black mains lead. Were they saving on the extra few pennies to use same colour lead? Remember this kettle is not cheap.The plastic handle and the plastic knob on the lid are cheap, you can clearly see the seam from the mould, very tacky. The handle is fitted with a screw which shows and looks really tacky.The plastic handle is too low over the lid, so you need to manoeuvre your hand delicately while at the same time trying to pull hard - not good at all.The spout is downright dangerous, my wife almost got scalded. It points upwards and at an angle, so when the kettle is filled, if you lean it too much trying to pour, the water literally jumps out half a foot away and can burn you and cause damage. The spout which is a very good size, ought to have a little buffer at the top to aim the water down - not horizontally away.You may think this assessment is too harsh but remember you have paid a lot of money for this and ought to have got a slightly better design.I cannot comment on quality (eg the steel compound used, will it rust?) and longevity, having recently opened up to repair another "Made in China" but very good brand kettle, I was horrified at the shoddy electrics in the base, it is a miracle it ever worked and did not kill us all. I have not opened up this kettle to look inside hoping as it's made in Italy would be much better made.Overall a very good kettle, not cheap but hey, no plastics, and a couple of things could, and should, be improved. Would buy again.

A high quality kettle. We had a one cup before but that started blowing fuses so as it was the second one to fail we decided to go back to an ordinary kettle. We noticed the kettle was somewhat noisier but that is a small price to pay for such a good looking item that did the job.

Having tried lots of different kettles at last I’ve found one that not only looks great but pours brilliantly!! Would buy one in all the colours if I had space. Super fast delivery considering it comes from Italy. No mod cons it’s just a fantastic kettle!!

Looks great and contains no plastic inside kettle, so no plastic taste.Tip: When limescale began to build inside the kettle, it started to make a popping sound. We descaled it and the kettle was as good as new again.November 2020 update: kettle has stopped working just before its 3-year anniversary. Mixed feelings after shelling out around £80. Maybe it's just par for the course nowadays.

Beautifully designed kettle, lovely colour and so easy to open the lid and fill, the handle is a clever design too. It came very quickly from Italy with a U.K. plug, and I asked for a stainless steel filter, which they provided. It also states that all parts are sourced from Europe and it is made in Italy.
