Difficult beginning
I have yet to cut a stick of wood with this saw, but I would like to share my experience so far. My 25 year old McCulloch finally gave up the ghost, mainly due to my abuse and neglect. But at least I felt it gave me a history of experience. Shopping for a replacement, I wanted a compromise between the low end saws at the box stores and top of the line Stihl. This one from Amazon seemed to be about right. I thought the two 5-star reviews were a bit sparse, but I found at least one video to support them. So I took the plunge. The saw arrived on time and looked to be new and unused, as advertised. It came assembled with no case, again as advertised. The first disappointment was the manual. I expected that it would allow me to transition from the old Mac. Not so. It was virtually no help. Eventually I found enough YouTube videos to bridge the gap and got it running. It runs, but not well. The warranty says I should depend on the nearest service center, but in rural northern Wisconsin, that is 42 miles away. So I will probably buy a spline tool from Amazon, and tune the carb as needed. I have big stack of year-old maple that needs to be cut up for winter. I'll check back here to let you know if the Jonsered lives up to its billing.Update Sept 23, 2018:I was able to get the saw started, ran it for a minute or two, then set it on the work bench overnight. Next day it was sitting in a puddle of oil, so I sent it back. Amazon sent a replacement right away. The new saw is good. It starts as needed and cuts very well. So far, I have cut several face cords of wood. The only complaint is that the throttle is touchy at the high end. I have to ease up to avoid over revving, to avoid smoking the blade. I also bought a spline tool so will experiment tuning the carb. Rating is now 5 stars.

Great saw -- weighted just right.
I had an old jonsered that was basically the predecessor of this saw and I really liked how it was weighted. When it died and it was too much to repair I bought this one. The saw is of course different as Jonsered is now owned by Husqvarna, however it still feels pretty much the same. If your chain is properly sharpened you can cut a log half way up the blade with little strain on your back. It works for me, and i'd recommend it to anyone. I'm not a logger, so I don't use it daily and cannot contest to its durability on that front. That being said when I need it to work, it works and works how I want.
