I have two little boys (2 1/2 and 16 months) and they love their chairs. The whole seat is so soft that they don't give the truck a second thought when they sit down.

Q: Is the back of the chair hard so a little one cannot fall back easily?

No, this chair tips over pretty easily. I put it up against the couch or ottoman to prevent that from happening.

Q: Is the chair big enough for a 7 year old girl?

No typically not unless it is a small framed 7 year old. I bought for a 2 and 4 year old. They do have some bigger chairs for this age but not in the animals.
