Aerator and Decanter

This is a remarkably simple device that is well made and sturdy that gets the job done! The aerator is easy to use and measures out a perfect amount of wine every time. Essentially, you pour wine down the first tube with the round bowl below the angle of the pour. You can see the wine dissipate evenly around the bowl as it allows the wine to breathe and collects the pour. Next you slowly tilt the neck of the aerator down so that the bowl can pour slowly into your glass and this tends to introduce more air into the bowl at the same time. I honestly believe there is an instant difference in taste and aroma just from using this for each glass of wine that is poured.

It looks delicate but I've used mine a lot in 2+ years. It's aeration and looks with perfect size pour makes it wonderful!

I purchased the IL Decantino as I was very impressed when I first saw a similar product used in a restaurant, however, upon purchasing this product I was very disappointed. Whilst the concept is exceptional, but the execution of this particular product was poor. The seal inserted into the wine bottle is just a bit too small making it unstable to use. When tilting the decanter for the final pour into the wine glass, the seal is not tight enough meaning the decanter slides and rotates in the neck of the bottle. This makes it nearly impossible to pour without spillage and runs the risk of the decanter coming out. I purchased two and tried both on many different brands of wine bottles, but always encountered the same problem. I'd highly recommend spending a little extra on a similar product of better craftsmanship instead of this one, as this one design flaw made it utterly useless and a waste of money.

It is a hassle to use!

I saw this in use at a friend's house so I ordered it online. It's easy to use and quite the noveltywhen you first put it into operation. It certainly helps the wine "breathe" a bit faster.It definitely improves the taste of the vino.

First saw Il Decantino on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. Actually was able to buy one on the ship-with their logo.When I got home I went to Amazon and found the same item without the logo and at a much better price.The device works exactly as it is supposed to. Open the bottle, press the corked end into the bottle, and tilt to fill the bowl. Then pour into the wine glass. Might take some practice. The first time you try it you may pour the wine back into the bottle. No big deal...more aeration. More convenient and effective than many of the other devices that we have that serve the same purpose.

We had purchased on of the same type in vegas at the cocktail and bar expo. Unfortunately it got broken. I was excited to see that it was offered on amazon, so I bought it. Love it and it ia also quite the conversation piece.

This is a really fun little wine aerator and it works well for us. Folks love to watch it in use, as it makes us look a bit like mad scientists...or, at least above-average chemists. Anyway, the aerator works very well indeed and we love it. One thing to keep in mind, even though it is a bit of a quibble. Because of the design, it's a little tricky to get the inside of the aerator dry after using and then rinsing it. We've found that if we brace it in the right position, all the droplets of water eventually drain and dry out.
