Don't waste your money on the book - just buy the Tarot Deck
This is the worst book on tarot I have ever read. The black and white cards that accompany the book are quite beautiful, and I've enjoyed using them for nearly 30 years. BUT the author obviously hates men and has nothing good to say about fully half of humanity. She even goes to the extreme of refusing to use "man" in her references to females. The aggravating inconsistency in her use of "wimmin," "womon," "wymyn" and the like makes it almost impossible to give her point of view a fair hearing. In three decades I have tried several times to re-read this book but Ms. Morgan's misandry is so utterly distasteful that I give up.The committee that designed and drew the cards had a noble purpose, namely to give voice to a woman's perspective, but unfortunately since Ms. Morgan was one of the group's founders it was left to her to write the book that accompanies the deck. Over the years I have investigated the origins of this deck, and the evolution of the images. While no so-called patriarchal tarot deck has deliberately eliminated female figures, and most have depictions of strong women, this book and card set has completely eliminated all males. They have one card, Pan, that is a half-hearted attempt to placate those who may be offended by this crass decision, but clearly they only give lip service to it, going so far as to offer a replacement so you don't have to have even that emasculated creature. I don't know if this was the overall decision of all of the artists, or only Ms. Morgan's view. As I said, I like the images and I do use the deck but for me the book does a huge disservice to genuine feminists. It would be just as easy to buy the cards and look up any of the unfamiliar goddesses at Wikipedia, rather than relying on this book.

Love her Feminist Approach!
DAUGHTERS of the Moon- It's about WOMEN, womyn and some of us wimmin too. To the reviewer who thought Ms. Morgan hated men- what a nasty comment. The book & cards are celebrating the beautiful female energy in all her glorious forms. It's just NOT about men. This is one womyn's creative process and it was a wonderful way to go. Thank-you Ffiona Morgan!
