After Dr Bodgan Chiva Giurca gave a talk at my university regarding getting into medical school, I knew I had to buy this book. This book gives insight into everything you need to know how to get into medical school, but also the stuff they don’t tell you. It includes chapters on work experience, UCAT/BMAT, personal statement writing, and how to ace the interview process. I have just sat the UCAT and I’m so pleased with how I did and I would not have been able to do so without this book. This book has helped me so much with my confidence and personal statement, and my application is now ready to be sent off. Hopefully with the use of this book, that I cannot recommend enough, I will be able to get use out of the interview section too! Honestly this book is so informative and useful, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of applying to study medicine in the UK!

Every single page of this big book is filled with information that will probably answer any question that you might have, and perhaps many more that you haven't even thought about in great detail, and it covers all the aspects of applying to medicine from background information, like medical ethics or the NHS, to the entrance exams, personal statement and interviews. Reading the book feels like you're actually talking to a mentor in front of you, and the fact that they've included many different opinions from lots of medical students, applicants and professionals allows you to relate to the book more, and so it also makes the book more useful for your personal situation. I also liked just how realistic the whole application process is given in the book, and that there were many examples of personal experiences about interviews or personal statements for example. Overall I think it's a great book with lots of helpful advice that you probably won't be able to find anywhere else, and that will be an amazing guide throughout the whole medical school application process.

I though the price was okay however the book came very damaged the spine ad separated completely from the book and the covers had a white crusty substance on it this book had other issues like the edges had been torn.

As a potential graduate medical student, this book has become a sort of a life-saver, something that I can lean on during the application process. Each part of the process is a major hurdle itself which we have to pass and having this book by my side helps me to gain confidence in each challenge, from their insider tips and allowing us to reflect and review stuff like typical interview questions, to their continued encouragement and guidance. To see whether the result pays off is yet to be determined. But so far, I believe I can do this and having the book is an extra added help which I will gladly accept.

It provides step-by-step guidance on every part of the application process and includes insights from medical students which has been incredibly helpful. An amazing resource that is a MUST have if you are thinking of applying to medical school.
