iProven has created a quick and visually attractive thermometer especially for children! My toddler hates having her temperature taken. She has carried a fever of 101 or higher for almost 8 days and the struggle was real when it came time for a temp. check. I was impressed this came so quickly and packaged securely to avoid damage. iProven has a nice, hard plastic case to keep your thermometer free of damage and the smiley faces on the face make all the difference for my toddler! With an accurate reading in 10 seconds, she doesn't cry anymore and checks to see what her face reveals! Such a smart and small difference from our other thermometers and makes it less scary/uncomfortable for a 3 year old to actually and willingly have her temp. taken! iProven has now replaced our expensive (and inaccurate) temporal thermometer! :)

This unit consistently registers on the very low side when taking my temperature. By low, I mean around 95 F. I have tried taking my temperature several times in succession and it always registers very low. I was not ill when I used the thermometer, so I must assume my body temperature should be reasonably close to 98.6 F. I realize that taking temperature orally will usually be lower than the actual body temperature but this discrepancy is too much. I suspect the problem with the thermometer is the very faint alarm goes off too soon and thus does not register a correct temperature. I tested the thermometers accuracy while measuring a glass of water at various temperatures from 95 to 105F. I compared results to two very accurate instant read kitchen thermometers that I use. At any given water temperature, this product and my kitchen thermometers all were in agreement to within 0.1 F. Maybe if this product allowed more time for the temperature sensor to reach equilibrium with my mouth temperature, the results would be more believable. I can not recommend this product and will be returning it for a refund.

Out of the box the temperature didn't register within 10 seconds or even 20 sometimes. After a few uses, the temperature readings became unreliable. One time it would read 91.7F followed by a reading a few minutes later of 99.9F, and so on. Performance is erratic. Can't comment on battery life. Haven't had it long enough.

It only works if I push it down really hard under my tongue. The first few times I did it, it showed my temperature as about 92F but when I shoved it under my tongue, it worked. It’s not comfortable to use.I’m sure it would work rectally but I’m not doing that.

When we turn on the thermometer, it flashes "98.6 F" and then displays "Lo". If we hold down the button, it will switch to Celcius, but any temperature it displays is always the same and then it just says "Lo". We wait 10 seconds like the instructions say... and wait 10 more seconds to be sure, but we never get a reading. So I thought maybe the battery was low and ordered replacement batteries, which finally arrived yesterday. The brand new battery makes no difference. We can't get this thing to take a temperature and now the return window has closed. Unimpressed.

We purchased this item to have on hand as a replacement for the old fashioned glass ones that we have had for years. A need arose and this item failed to register anything close to a proper value. We used one of our glass units and got the information we needed. We tried everything that we could think of to get it to work and looked on line for assistance and then just through it away since it was just past the return date. Sometimes the old tried and true is more reliable.

Product just arrived. I bought it to use with a newborn, so I tested it first on myself (orally) to make sure it works properly. It was reading about 1.6 degrees (f) lower than an average temp, so I cross tested it with an ear thermometer that I have and that one was reading correctly. I this tried this one 3 times and it always read pretty low, which concerns me, especially with a newborn depending on it.Hopefully this one was just a fluke...

Please note that I was given this product for free to test and review. Having said that, I must say the thermometer works very well; it displays the temperature after 10 seconds. I used it orally but it can be used to measure temp anally (I don't recommend switching back and forth, though!!). I liked that the face emojis immediately tell you whether the temp is normal or concerning instead of you having to remember what temp means fever (note that in the instructions this info is completely backwards and counterintuitive). I have not tested the battery life as I haven't had the product long enough. All in all, a good thermometer for the price.
