This mat is advertised as a play mat for children, and I think it would work great for that. We bought this to go in our indoor bunny area. The bunny has scratched holes in it and it will have to go. I don't blame the product for this, and I bought it knowing there was a chance it wouldn't stand up to the bunny but wanted to try it as I have seen others use similar products for pet areas. A different pet might do better with it.The overall look of the mat is really nice, but it's a little pricey for the look and feel you get. However, it is very nice to walk on and adds padding to hard floors where needed. I would say this mat would be perfect for a play area for a baby or child. It is quite easy to clean and adds design to the room.Based on our experience, I wonder about how well the mat would stand up to frequent long term use. I suggest not walking on the mat with shoes and taking care with what type of furniture you put on it, and keep metal toys or other things that could dig in or scratch it off the mat. If general care is taken, it seems like the mat will last very well and look nice for quite a while.

Edit: Upgrading from 4 to 5 stars because I've also bought the competitors' mats and they are nowhere near as cushy and quality as this one. This one feels almost like memory foam- you sink in a little and it feels supportive. The other competitors are super lightweight (half the weight) and feel like cheap airy foam.Original review: I bought 3 of these to line my apartment floor to dampen sound vibrations from an active dog and protect the hardwood from his nails. Great quality mats, super thick, nice neutral patterns (I chose the gray stars/wood panel style). My dog LOVES running on them and they do protect the floor. But starting from day 1, his nails have left puncture marks (small gouges) in the mat when he runs and plays. He doesn't have long nails. The marks are highly visible and expose the white foam underneath, which then causes problems when cleaning the mats. After a few months, all the mats are ruined. I still recommend the mats though. I'm sure they would hold up just fine under normal use for people that don't have a 90 lb dog using them as a racetrack!

so soft so plush like a memory foam! i bought the connect ones for my kids before i found out bout this.this one exceeds and looks so darn good. its so easy to clean vs taking off the pieces and cleaning the front back and bottom and sides. the kids cant take the pieces apart anymore! AND skid free! theres been plenty of times where ive held my kids and almost ate it. yes, it is expensive. But, do you want to put a price tag on your kid's safety and time spending fixing the puzzles they take out each time? for those of you guys who cant handle the price, there are some cheaper ones with different design. just search through amazon.

The media could not be loaded.  It was awesome at the beginning but now a year later it is completely ruined. We used it in child’s room and never worn any shoes on it but as you can see on the picture- rips aare in multiple places and the water and cleaning materials are getting inside. (And the waterproofing disappears after that of course) There’s no way of drying it inside. I’m afraid to leave it for much longer because of the safety reasons. It is too expensive to be such a fragile product. Going to purchase much cheaper foldable mat.Also it seems that it should be easy to clean, but the pen marks do not come off at all and if you’re planning to use it in child’s room be prepared to have marks on 😢I think it is the first time I’m leaving the one star review 😭

We ordered this product for our grandson's Christmas visit after reviewing multiple play mats. I'm delighted we chose this one. It is comfortable, easy to clean, and nice to look at from both sides. Some of the mats were too "busy" to look at comfortably, and others had multiple pieces that had cleaning issues or trouble fitting together after multiple uses. After the our grandson and his parents left, we discovered this mat is the perfect size and thickness for adult exercising.

This is a comfortable and cute mat that is prefect for a new crawler. No complaints at all.
