Turmeric, a plant related to ginger, is grown throughout India, other parts of Asia, and Central America. Turmeric is a common spice and a major ingredient in curry powder. Historically, turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine, primarily in South Asia, for many conditions, including breathing problems, rheumatism, serious pain, and fatigue. Today, turmeric is used as a dietary supplement for inflammation; arthritis; stomach, cognitive improvement, skin, liver, and gallbladder problems; and other conditions. What to look for in a Turmeric product? How much Turmeric Curcumin do you need, for it to be effective? Since Turmeric's main health benefits are triggered by curcuminoids, the more curcuminoids you consume, the better.  However Turmeric root powder consists of 2 to 3 percent curcuminoids, the rest consists of carbs, some protein, other healthy minerals and oils, dietary fiber and water. To provide more curcuminoids, we include 95 percent standardized curcuminoids extract, which means the curcuminoids in our compound are at least 95 percent . Our formula includes 450 milligram of 95 percent standardized curcuminoid compound and 1,050 milligram Turmeric root powder with each serving to provide complete benefits of Turmeric plant. For adults, the general recommended dose is 400 to 600 milligram of turmeric/curcumin powder 1 to 3 times per day.  Our turmeric capsules contains 350 milligram of turmeric powder and 150 milligram 95 percent standardized curcumin per capsule. To stay within the recommended dosage do not take more than 3 capsules a day. What about Bio-availability? Researches have shown that curcuminoids are best absorbed with black pepper.
