Sheaffer Sagaris 9473 Gold Trim Fountain Pen

I have been using fountain pens for quite some time now and certainly Sheaffer is one of the best among them.Sheaffer Sagaris is very comfortable to hold and the nib writes flawlessly. However the nib can be seen with spots of ink, as if it were leaking from the nib slit. For a person who chooses to have a premium fountain pen, it is natural to expect a perfect writing instrument. Though the ink leak near the slit has no concern with the quality of its writing, it is noticeable to the eye on a detailed look.Sheaffer could have been more careful in their design to prevent it.Over all, discounting the slight ink spot hardly noticeable on the nib, the pen is amazing and performs fairly well.

I was hoping for a medium nib but received a F. But the nib is the best F nib that I have used so far so no complain. The clip on the cap is a tad loose and tends to slightly move sideways. But I will not return it as the nib is great and the defect of the clip is not that noticeable.

I have been using Sheaffer fountain pens for quite some and this one is as good as the others.Although the product description says it is a ‘Medium’ nib however the pen that I received had a ‘Fine’ nib. I am very happy with this mistake of the seller as the Fine Nib writes better.The quality of threading on nib assembly is not very good and the threads should have been a bit finer as it was in earlier models.The piston converter provided with the pen was defective and started leaking. I had to buy a new one for Rupees 425 to make the pen work again.

Pen is awesome but a bit leakage problem from the nib junction with the provided cartridges...pathetic delivery service

Awesome writing ballpoint pen. I recommend this for beginners, it is a value for money proposition and the whole package was presented excellently. Bravo!

The Sagaris line of pens can use Sheaffer's custom cartridges in addition to the smaller "standard" fountain pen cartridges, and come with a refillable cartridge. The Chrome/Gold ones are probably the prettiest of the line.However, they aren't being manufactured at the current date so this review will not likely ever matter to anybody.
