Anchors Hair Company Strong Hold Water Based Styling Pomade (2.3 Ounce)

The ultimate test. Put the product in. Style your hair. Then let your toddler “style” your hair, then see if you can tame it back down. Mission accomplished. This product smells great, like coconuts and leather as advertised (not necessarily my ABSOLUTE favorite scent tbh, but definitely bearable in a product that works so well). I’m willing to bet you can’t tell which pic is before or after the aforementioned “styling by the toddler” and this is only running my fingers through afterward to restyle. This product is pliable, and remains that way all day, while providing enough weight to keep my hair where I want it for this particular style. Anchors adds a significant amount of moisture to my medium thick and obnoxiously straight hair that normally eats hair product for breakfast and makes it disappear. I did a little trial with about 6 different products so far to replace my previous favorite that was no longer providing the hold I was looking for as my hair has grown out a bit for this style. Sianara shu uemura. Anchors was the first product I received in my little “trial” and I have used it to “fix” every other product since. They are all too dry and don’t provide enough moisture and hold, and I don’t want to use a primer and lock it with hairspray and all that mess every single day. I needed a single product that I can put in, that provides enough moisture and pliability to restyle throughout the day using only my fingers, and gives enough “hold” to keep the butt-cut part from revealing itself as my hair will do if the product is too dry. That was the mission, and mission accomplished. To be completely candid, the ONLY thing that has rendered my hair “not restylable” after using this product is 2+ hours of furious jumpy trampoline time with the kids at one of those jumpy trampoline places. All the bouncing, ninja warrior courses and sweat took anchors down hard. But I will say that is an extreme situation and otherwise this product has exceeded every expectation. Remember it is water soluble, so if you sweat profusely you will either need to wash and restyle or simply reapply product to restyle otherwise. Kudos on a solid product.

I was new to the world of hair products when I discovered Anchors. Being uncertain and reluctant to trust whether I could pull off the hairstyle I was going for (slick back) without looking “greasy”, I started with a small container of Teddy Boy original. From there, I was hooked. The craftsmanship that goes into the preparation of Anchor products clearly manifests itself in the remarkable consistency and true-to-advertising performance I’ve experienced. In using the Teddy Boy, I found that I loved the shine and overall look, but wanted something stronger or firmer (I have wavy hair that tends to make its own rules.) After using Strong Hold for the first time, I knew at that moment that it would be the only pomade I’d use going forward. It’s unbelievably firm from the moment it “sets” in until you wash it out. As such, it renders hair practically maintenance free, which is nice if you’re busy and don’t have time to preen yourself in front of the mirror for extended periods. It affords you the flexibility to restyle, as desired, throughout the day. I find the shine natural and not overly glossy or bright (for reference, I have jet black hair.) I would recommend this product, without reservation, to anyone looking for a natural pomade that performs like the label says. 2 thumbs up!

This is quite frankly the best hair product I've ever seen or used. No BS. I have a mixed heritage and some out of control hair. It's frizzy, curly, hard to control. This stuff is simple with ingredients you can understand. It has good control and allows a huge range of styles. It can be applied dry or wet, with a blow dryer or without, poofed up or slicked back, wavy, curly, whatever. Smells awesome, washes out easily. It's amazing.The only downside is it's pricey and the jar that you get is small. On the plus side you don't need much but at the same time you don't get much so it evens out. I wish it came in a bigger jar so I don't have to reorder them as often but the small jar fits in my gym bag no problem.I took a star away because at $20/jar it's a little pricey.

I have extremely thick hair, I normally do not use hair products. I recently changed barbers, he used this on my hair after cutting it. I fell in love with the scent, coconut and leather and more leather than coconut. After purchasing a small jar the next trip to my new barber, I decided to get the large 4oz size. It only takes a small amount of this amazing product, (cover tip of index finger), then rub it with your other fingers on both hands. Run your fingers through your damp hair (not wet) after combing or brushing to get the style you want. I have found it washes out without leaving any residue with one wash. I have been work outside in 90 plus degree heat and sweating, without any change in the hold. It also seems that you can comb or brush maybe one time after you style has been achieved. If you use more of the product then it could take more than one hair washing to get it out, but it only takes a small amount to achieve the same results. If you like a manly just left the barbershop feel and smell, you will love this product.These are my honest opinions and I have not received anything for doing this review.

I have bought every anchors aweigh product because they never disappoint and this is no different. The product is like a thick cream type feeling....scooping the product is smooth and feels like if it won't have as much hold as it claims to have but as soon as you start rubbing the product in between your hands, you feel the strong hold kick in. It literally holds your style up all day and then in the morning if your in a rush you can literally just restyle it again, that's how strong the hold is. It has decent texture and has a nice smell to it, the shine isn't to high; it is just enough shine to make your hair look nice an healthy and not greasy looking..great product.
