Frienda Silicone Cover Skin for Ring Spotlight Battery Cam Security Camera, Sun Glare, UV Light and Weather Resistant Protected Case (White)

I bought this to cover my ring camera to help protect it from the harsh Vegas sun. It was easy to put over the camera and fits just right. I did cut a piece off to make sure the lens didn’t have a “ghost” ring on the bottom. I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have a wired or the Solar panel hooked up to your camera. It covers the bottom in a way that you can’t change the batteries without removing the cover. For now that seems to be the only drawback.

I wanted something to help keep the weather off/out of my spotlight cameras. This helps and also secures the battery compartment unless someone wishes to fight with this cover to get access to it. The first time you put the cover on it is a bit difficult as the material is tight but this also ensures a good fit.

I needed a shield to keep rain and frost off of the lens of the camera, specially in the mornings, which this cover does perfectly!! However, I was getting light flares at night whenever the light would come on, which made most of the videos difficult to see if not impossible. My guess was that it was the light being refracted through the silicone strips between the lights and the camera causing the flares, so I cut those silicone strips out, and that solved all my "flare" problems. Now I have the "Perfect solution" to all the problems I was having with my SpotLight Camera, and I am very HAPPY!! I suppose I could have painted or wrapped the silicone strips in black paint or tape, but I was in a bit of a hurry to solve my problem, so I took the shortest solution.I still think this is aFINE product, and would purchase it again.Addendum one year later: This silicone cover has held up well for the most part, however it has mildewed terribly and will wash off all except the top of the cover. The top of the cover is mildew spot stained to the point that it will not clean with any type or brand of cleaner, regardless of how much "elbow grease" one applies to the effort. Having mounted it high above the garage, it is not in a location that is within easy reach to clean on a whim on a regular basis, nor should it need to be really, as being silicone, it should just rinse with the rain or a hose, but NO. The mildew holds fast until scrubbed with vigor and chemicals.This cover still protects the camera very well from the sun and elements, therefore doing it's job, but at a cost. Unsightly mildew.

This silicone cover does work pretty well, the only problem is it doesn't protect the actual lens from getting rain or fog on it. I found some other covers that are the similar idea of putting on a cell phone that are made for lens covers. Amazon carries them and they are little circles. So I used those along with this silicone cover and I'm happy.

A relative was car-jacked in my driveway, so I beefed up my security system. If only I had caught the criminals with a camera. I look at cheaper camera systems. There are cheaper cameras out there, but you have to look at the resolution and the angle on the lens. Some cameras have a relatively narrow field of view and you need two or three of them to cover the same area as this camera. So always compare the specs. I do recommend getting the ac adapter with this camera so that you don't have to change batteries. Make sure the AC adapter is screwed in tight using the provided screws. The cord is very thin so you can run it almost anywhere. I tucked the cord behind the siding on my house and ran it to the garage where there is an electrical outlet.

Since I didn’t have a protected area for one cam, this worked perfect. It keeps the lens a little clearer also with the overhang.

This is a great idea! But they are difficult to put over the camera/install also changing the batteries is a little challenging because they’re a tight fit. If you have strong hands and patience it’s an OK product!! there’s nothing else like it that I can find so I will make these work. (The reason for use of this protector is to keep the camera case from getting weathered or yellowing!!)

I have four outdoor cameras covered with Silicone Cover Skin. After 5 years, they still look awesome as well as protect my cameras from inclement weather.

Great cover, only problem is when I need to change the battery. Purchased solar charger to make things easier.

Einfache Silikonabdeckung für die Cam. Für einen Batteriewechsel kann man die Abdeckung unten über die Cam schieben, so dass sich das Batteriefach öffnen lässt, dafür muss man nicht die komplette Abdeckung abnehmen wie hier oft beschrieben wird. Ein Nachteil ist, dass der Silikonstoff im Dunkeln reflektiert, was dann auf den Cambildern leider stark zu sehen ist, gerade auch in Verbindung mit dem seitlichen Licht an der Cam.. Für Bilder am Tag stört die Abdeckung nicht, in der Nacht jedoch eher ein großer Nachteil. Eine Einschränkung der WLAN Funktion an der Cam, liegt bei uns nicht vor

A good idea and the small hood works well to protect the lens from rain, however a major drawback is the front panel that encircles the lens and speaker cause terrible reflection at night in the infrared and led mode. I was disappointed and had initially planned to return however I decided to remove this section with a small craft knife and this worked perfectly to resolve the interference. A good idea that requires some modification to allow the camera to work without interference.

Easy to apply and aids water protection but my main reason was to cover over a black camera unit (gift) in order to match white soffit and facia boards. It suits the job well.

Not sure if it works as no rain so far.But one issue I noticed with 2 new cameras fitted with these covers.Because of the wide angle lens - the camera detects the edges of of the cover which casts a slight shadow blur each side of the lens.I snipped off the front of the cover - problem sorted.
