It will change you.
Being a chronic worrier I was a little skeptical when I came across this book (the irony).I wasn't a fan of his other more famous book "How to win friends and influence people" so I was very surprised to find after reading this one that this book was actually ... exceptional.I loved that the book immediately provided (as the author suggested) life altering insights/suggestions within the first 2 chapters. One of the great things about this book is that it is so well researched and pragmatic and would be useful to everyone - let alone chronic worriers. Once you're past the first couple of chapters I think you'll find that this book is difficult to put down, because you'll want to absorb everything in it. (Or at least that was my experience). To say this book would change your life in small but profound ways is understating its impact. This book has been one of the defining books that has significantly altered my character and quality of life. Since reading this book I have taken the lessons from it and applied it (somewhat sub-conciously) day-in day-out. I guess its true when they say the once a book has shaped your mind its impossible to revert back (in a good way). The book is also really easy to digest, its like having a casual conversation with a wise and well traveled friend. I finished this book relatively quickly partly because the ideas were so exciting and life-altering. You will actually enjoy reading this book.I keep one of the poems (that the author recommended) from the book mounted on my wall to remind myself of the lessons learned.A definite book to buy for anyone with a personal development library, and an absolute must for worriers. For everyone else this book is still great value of money and will provide you with helpful advice and suggestions.Personally I think everyone should own this book.

Phenomenal book. Wat ahead ofits time and still relevant almost 100 years later. Reading this during a stressful time was a port in the storm.

Strange format
What's written in the book is great, but the actual book is so tiny it's almost unreadable. I've photographed it next to a normal paperback bought at the same time and you can barely read the back notes. Great book, but buy it in a different edition.

Does what it states on the cover
Having read 'How to win friends and influence people' by Dale Carnegie, I anticipated that any other books by the author would be money well spent, and this book did not disappoint. My only reservation about purchasing this book was that there might be alot of overlap between it and the aforementioned title however these concerns proved to be unfounded. There is lots of fresh material in this book and if you enjoyed 'How to win friends and influence people', you will definitely benefit from this book.If you're considering buying a Dale Carnegie title for the first time then you are in for a treat! It basically does what it says on the tin: it teaches you how to stop worrying and start living. It really is as simple as that and as you read through, you will find that alot of the suggestions and principles aren't rocket science, indeed you may already be familiar with some of them, but as Dale emphasises, we forget with astonishing rapidity. This isn't a book you should read once and put it away, it should be a guide to a new way of living, a useful reference tool. It will require persistence and daily application but it's a small price to pay for a better, less stressful life. The magic isn't in the book itself but in the reader putting the principles into action and getting results. One of the things I enjoy about Dale Carnegie' writing is that he often provides examples, anecdotes and snippets of advice, not only from successful people (presidents, philosophers, successful businessmen and so forth-many of whom he has personally interviewed); but he also provides examples from people in everyday life, many of whom have attended one of his courses. Some of the stories are fascinating and will really inspire you.Another aspect that I apprecite is the summary at the end of each chapter and each section of the book, of the key principles discussed. They don't compensate for reading the chapters themselves but they're a useful reminder. The author is clearly well read and has spent most of his life researching and teaching in the areas which he writes about. Not only has he taught others but his students have taught him as well, which is demonstrated by the many examples of their personal results, which have all been brought together in this one book.I recommend this book without reservation, and also 'How to win friends and influence people.' I've also recently purchased 'How to enjoy your life and your job' but that book extracts heavily from 'How to win friends and influence people' and includes a section from 'How to stop worrying and start living' so it's probably not worth buying if you already own those two titles.
