We've had one of these lamps for about a year and just ordered a second one after a different lamp quit working. This light can be assembled and working in less than 5 minutes as the wiring is internal so doesn't get twisted around while screwing the parts together. Compared to the year-old lamp, this one has a little softer-looking light, more like an incandescent bulb. Both lights came well packaged and without any scratches or other wear. This light works with a wall switch, but when you turn it on it defaults to the lowest brightness setting and you have to manually turn it up for the brighter settings. At the lowest settings the two lamps provide perfect ambient light for our approx. 15x10 living room if we're sitting around or watching TV. I usually turn one up for reading, but that's easily done with the buttons on the side of the light.

The lamp works well, setup was EASY. I've owned multiple led torchiere lamps before and this one was by far the best to set up. However, if you plan to use it with a wall switch (or a smart plug, which I do) you should know that when it powers on, it will only light up to 50% brightness. So you will still need to walk up and adjust the brightness if you want it to be on at full brightness. If it's just plugged into a switch and you turn it on/off manually, it works flawlessly. Lights up at the same brightness that you turned it off at. It's just when power is interrupted that it comes back on at 50% power.

I bought two of these last year and they are perfect, so I ordered another one from Amazon using the "buy again" button. This time they ship 3000K Color Temp, which is also not as bright. I can't find the Avantica 5000K LED Lamp anywhere except in Amazon Australia or Amazon Germany. Not sure why they stopped making the 5000K version, 3000K is just too yellow.

Solid build. Nice height. I put on a wall switched receptacle. It takes about 2 seconds to go on after wall switch turned on. It turns on always in medium intensity to start. The dimmer switch is tricky to use. Need to look carefully and tap on the "+" or "-" to adjust.My personal preference is a bright, tall (so I don't see the lamp light directly) torchiere lamp that is wall switchable and will go on at the dim level that it is set at. For those interested I found this in the Kira Home Horizon 70" Modern LED Torchiere Floor Lamp (36W, 300W eq.).*** 8/28/19 update. My initial observation are still accurate. It is a pain to operate the switch. And, I noticed that whenever there is a power outage, the light goes on with restoration of power. I think this is unacceptable behavior. An 'off' light should stay off even with a power interruption.*** 2 yr update. Durability seems there. Great Floor Lamps, very versatile. They have so many adjustments, the combinations are endless. The modular design lets you make them different heights and you have options to angle the lamp for any lighting need. The other thing I love about them is the ability to have low background lighting to super bright, almost too bright, lighting...And, they are LED, almost no heat and low watts. Love them so far.

Packaged efficiently in a well designed cardboard box. Various components are very easy to assemble and operate. It can be turned on by a wall switch or timer but only at 50% brightness. The diameter of the round head is only about 8.5 inches but emits bright and warm light. Overall very satisfied with this product.

Easy to assemble. Light is a nice warm white and easily dimmable. Works on a smart switch. Really makes a difference to the background light in a room.

Very good floor lamp, can adjust the height, suitable for adults is also very suitable for children to do homework, and very bright, can illuminate a wide range, I really like
