It just WORKS!
Plug it in and go. After weeks of struggling with different drivers trying to get prolific chip sets to work with various cables I had on hand, I ordered this FTDI chip set cable and it is plug and play. Do yourself a favor (Mac Users) and order this cable and you won't have to worry about the drivers disabling your cables!

Worked perfectly, no hassles
I've been very happy with my Yaesu FT-60R, but not happy with the programming cables I had for it. I'd purchased BlueMax49ers cables for several other radios, so I got one for the FT-60. It uses an FTDI chipset, unlike the older cable I had which used a Prolific chipset (probably fake). The BlueMax49ers cable worked perfectly to download from and upload to the radio.Brand names help us find reliable suppliers, I'll buy cables from them again whenever I need one for the radios I own.

It Works!
This is a quality cable built by a ham for hams. Before I purchase the cable, I verified that it would work with the three radios that I had planned for its use: Yaesu VX 2R, VX 5R and the FT-60R. Mark said that it would work with all three using Chirp and Mac OSX. Perfect. Cable arrived within two days. Just to make certain I downloaded the drivers for this cable from the link provided by Mark. I opened Chirp program and began programming a radio. The cable works. As for Chirp, that is another issue. I have used RT Systems in the past. I tend to like their programming a little better, but that has nothing to do with this cable.This one cable will work for three different radios. If I were to go with RT Sytems, I would have to purchase three different programs and find a Windows laptop. I am not knocking RT Systems and not knocking Chirp. They both work to program a radio. I just happen to like the feel of the RT systems software a little better. But with this cable I am able to program all three of my radios.Don't go with the dubious "Foreign" cheap stuff. You will have headaches upon headaches trying to get it to work. Pay just a bit more and get something that not only works, but you will have access to the maker if you run into any problems. That is important.For those in the "hobby" of amateur radio, you will find BlueMax49ers cables worth every penny. It will make programming otherwise difficult radios a breeze.Cheers and 73!
