All the masks we've been given by the doctor had a bad chemical odor. The odor is very distinct. I call it "The Made In China Smell" I've used this term around strangers in a store, and they nod knowingly. {:-0 Unfortunately, all the masks I found were made in China, so I took a chance, and purchased the one that specifically stated, NO ODOR .
