Have a seat no matter where you are… even at a protest in Chicago!
We purchased this to help my wife walk and sit when she attended a protest in Chicago recently. The protest went well with a good number of attendees (the protest was about Women, Money and Democracy). Her group joined along with others to support needed banking changes...the cane/ chair was great, lightweight, easy to use and she felt safe and stable walking and sitting on it in the midst of the protest. Highly recommended. May get one myself in a few years!

Such an Asset
My son (who has arthritis) ordered this in advance of a trip. We knew there would be standing in line and the seat was crucial to his ability to be able to conserve his energy while doing all our activities. It really was essential. He used the cane function to minimize the impact of the joint pain, and used the stable seat many times. Fits into an overhead bin on the airplane. Comes with a fun mini-flashlight.Cons: the grip for the flashlight isn’t very strong, so flashlight kept falling (but both are removable), slight delays at TSA due to the metal cane (but small price to pay)Overall my son is very very pleased and called it an essential for our trip.

Dangerous
Great idea. Poor execution. The tripod feet are too close together to provide the sort of stability needed for a mobility-impaired individual. I tried it twice and fell both times. My wife, who is much smaller than I, also fell over. If some is smaller and has good balance, this may work reasonably well. It is not a good design for larger individuals.

Its ok
I had a wooden one for over 6 years that I had to replace. Unfortunately they no longer make so had to go the metal route. Its harder to sit on seat and I dont feel secure but its better than nothing when my back spasms

Unbiased review
I don’t know why people give 1 star for this thing. Somebody fell at the first sit. Obviously they don’t read the manual. You simply sit with the handle in front of you and that also helps when you need to stand up. You sit the wrong way, you fall, as simple as that. This is my 2nd chair cane as I used to forget it when I hop into my car. Back pain is not fun without frequent seating every short moment.I am happy that I chose this 400 lbs version and my weight is 220 lbs. it is ver sturdy unlike my other 300 lbs version. The flashlight with handling is a plus. However I have a big complaint. The nice seat cover came off easily and I lost it. The seat cover design needs to improve, some strings to tie it to the cane is superb. I can live without the cover, but it was there and it should be secured.Bottom line. This is a lifesaver for me. I have 2 of them.

Very sturdy
I have arthritis in my knees and need to sit often. I’m visiting relatives in Germany and Amsterdam. So glad I got this walking cane with a seat. I can stop at any time or place and catch my breath. This stool says it will hold 250 lbs so it is plenty sturdy. I feel very secure on it. Easy on and off of the seat.Whenever I was just walking a distance with the cane, I lengthened the center leg so that it was the only on touching the ground. Was easier to maneuver better that wayIt’s easy to push in the buttons to lengthen or shorten the legs.

Not easy to sit on
This is not an easy chair to sit on, and it feels pretty flimsy for the weight amount it's supposed to hold. Like others said, I'm afraid too move around and I end up using my legs to help stabilize the chair - okay for me, but defeats the purpose for people who need the chair because of leg weakness or decreased endurance.

Bring your own chair!
If you are going someplace where you don't know how far you have to walk, or how long you will have to stand in a line-up, this is the cane for you! Perfect for airports! Just make sure you have it locked in place before you sit or you might feel it move. I bought this before a vacation, and many people in the airport and in the destination stopped to enquire where I got it. It does weigh about 3 pounds, so is heavier than my regular cane.

Only for small people; 440 lbs? NEVER.
I am a large man, in excess of 300 lb, and have trouble walking longer distances, unless I can sit and rest every so often. The 440lb capacity is what attracted me to this item. The idea is good, the mechanism works, but, it never would have held my weight. I could feel it giving way as I tried to sit. The plastic tabs attaching the legs had already started to crack - from ONE PARTIAL SITTING. If you're under 150lbs, it might last a while, much bigger, and you'll be on the ground. The load rating is delusional, and irresponsible.
