MIOX Water Purifier Portable (Coyote Brown)

If you've never used one, youre missing out. For multi day camping its a great binifit to be able to sterilize a CamelPak and use a MSR Micro filter to complete the water prep.

As long as you have CR123s and some salt this guy works well. I'm glad I finally found one.

My team used MSR Miox purifiers in conjunction with a Katadyn Base Camp Micro Filter and did not have any water born illness issues. This is a great product and the chlorine smell that it gives off is comforting when you pour it into an iffy water source. I think that this product is definitely worth having when the safety of water is questionable. By the way the area that we were in had an outbreak of giardia and cholera just weeks after our return to the states.The only sickness that my team had was a result of Mosquito born Dengue fever.

It is a great for treating large quantities of water such as for a base camp, or disaster relief. This isn't really great for backpacking. I personally do not like the taste, but it is better then getting sick.
