Skyreat Filters Version 1 - Could be better. UPGRADED VERSION - Very good!
PLEASE NOTE: The product reviewed below (Skyreat filters version 1) has now been updated. Skyreat Mavic 2 Pro ND Filters and Polarized Filters UPGRADED VERSION are a VAST improvement. Perform a search for the Skyreat Upgraded Mavic 2 Pro Filters to check the new ones out!Original Skyreat Mavic 2 Pro filter review: A nice looking product with real potential, but seemingly rushed to market. The Skyreat filters come supplied in a simple white card box but once removed (and on first glimpse) the filters appear well made. They are supplied in a hard plastic carry case with a handy folded cleaning cloth. So far so good. However, I purchased both the 3 set of standard ND filters and the 6 set of 3 x ND and 3 x Polarized filters and unfortunately have experienced a number of issues with both.A number of the filters don't push home very easily and require a fair amount of fiddling to get them into position in order to push them down, turn and engage. Then when they are engaged some are loose and rattle. All of the filters in the 6 set were wider than the camera body so the gimbal protector wouldn't fit once a filter was installed, whereas all the filters in the 3 set were the exact same width as the camera body and allowed the gimbal cover to slip on fine. I assume that the 3 set could be a more recent design (Skyreat have been making improvements to their product since launch), so whilst the smaller size is better for gimbal guard fitment it's a whole world worse when it comes to filter removal. Once installed, the 3 filters that are the 'correct' width are extremely challenging to remove from the camera. They don't feature any grooves so offer little grip area on the filter. I'd say I have a fairly strong hand grip, but the filters wouldn't disengage without me wearing a rubber glove to aid grip of the filter and only after I put in a disconcerting amount of pressure. The filters from the 6 set are a little too wide and don't accept the gimbal guard but are a little easier to remove because the additional lip provides a small additional area to grip onto. However, it's only fair to say that even these were difficult compared to the original DJI lens protector. Each of the Skyreat filters feature 2 indents (each on opposite corners) that a sprung ball catch (part of the Mavic 2 Pro camera body) engages with. When these lock in position it requires lots of force to disengage both or one of the catches. The original DJI lens cover only uses one of the 2 sprung catches and so it far easier to remove.I don't look forward to having to remove the filters when out and about in certain environmental and weather conditions. The pressure and control that has to be applied to the gimbal whilst removing the filters is a little silly even when the drone is carefully placed on a tabletop in a warm and dry home. The thought of having to change these filters stood on a cold and blustery beach (for example) doesn't really bare thinking about. The final issue is with the polarised lenses which are not particularly useful as they don't rotate and so fail to do their intended job much of the time (the filters polarized function must be set 90 degrees to the sun/light source in order to function correctly). I'd heard that Skyreat were updating their polarized lenses from fixed rectangular lenses to a circular and adjustable type, but I was sent the original fixed versions so can't comment.EDIT - I HAVE NOW RECEIVED THE UPGRADED ADJUSTABLE CIRCULAR POLARIZED FILTERS AND CAN CONFIRM THEY ARE A BIG IMPROVEMENT. TO CHECK THEM OUT PLEASE SEARCH FOR: SKYREAT UPGRADED ND LENS FILERS MAVIC 2 PRODue to the recent launch of the Mavic 2 Pro drone, the potential quality of the filters and the fantastic service received from Skyreat I have amended this review slightly and awarded 3 stars (rather than 2) as the quality of manufacture and the quality of the glass filter fitted to each product seems to be of very good quality.EDIT - APOLOGIES FOR REPEATING MYSELF BUT I HAVE NOW RECEIVED THE UPGRADED SKYREAT 6 PACK OF ND AND ADJUSTABLE CIRCULAR POLARIZED FILTERS AND CAN CONFIRM THEY ARE A BIG IMPROVEMENT. Available now, a little tight and a. little tutorial
The most important thing to know about using filters with your Mavic 2 pro regardless of the filter brand; is that the existing Hassleblad UV filter twists off anticlockwise; and you pull it off they twist off anti clock wise and back on clockwise. I have uploaded images that show the original filter twisted and fully removed along with images of a sky peat filter on my drone. The sky peat filter is a little too bug; its very stiff to remove and overhangs the camera by a tiny amount but doesn't interfere with the gimbal and with the filter attached the camera is still balanced. The kit comes with a small lens cloth; you definitely need it as its near impossible to add / remove a filter without touching it.I chose Skyreat ND Lens filters using a complex decision matrix - they were the only set available in September 2018 including the DJi originals and I needed a set before going on vacation. On the drone the filters don't seem to impact the quality of the image besides reducing shutter speeds; more importantly I couldn't see any banding or variable brightness across the image in my Scottish test shots. The proof of the pudding that will come when I find some sun.

Almost Damaged Drone
Four out of the six filters managed to go on okay, slightly stiff, but my ND16 filters got jammed on the drone. I had to use a lot of force to get them off - not worth breaking a £1300 drone over an ND filter. Will be returning.
