An Awesome easy to use product.
OMG this product has helped me retrieve so many hundreds of photographs. It is so easy to use & the Digitnow software is fantastic too. Depending on what time of day the original photo was taken, the software lets you change the saturation, brightness, contrast etc. I used it for 35mm film negatives only & the software works on both MacOS & Windows 10, although I preferred the interface on MacOS. Importing the scanned negatives using the Photos app in MacOS gives you even more editing capabilities. The brush provided with it was also very useful to clean the scanning surface. If you're really serious about the scanned quality, just be prepared to be patient while scanning & editing. Great value for money & way better than the build your own box videos seen on YouTube.

Bought as a present
I purchased this as a gift for my husband. He said the software wasn’t easy to set up but got he there in the end. He uses Windows 10. The scanner is easy to use and generally does a good job although the end results don’t always match the colours and definition of the original slides. It also has a tendency to bleach out light colours and highlights on some slides and no amount of tweaking the settings improves them. Be aware that your monitor set up could affect the end results too.

Slide cassette jammed, software didn't work
The product looks good but the slide cassettes jam so you can't enter them into the viewer without brute force. To fix it you'd have to sand paper the slide cassette.I didn't get as far as using it because the downloaded software didn't recognise the scanner as a media source.I couldn't use the drivers packaged with the product as they were on a mini CD that only works with a tray type disk drive and not a front-loading CD.But what p***ed me off more than anything was that when I connected to help- to a chat I was connected to 'Demi'. Demi turned out to be a mediocre AI that replied to what I wrote:"Look, I'm no Rick Deckard but it's pretty clear that you are an a.i. routine. It's quite insulting and devious to be deceived into thinking that I am talking to a person called 'Demi'. Yes I will return the product for a refund and I will also leave the worst review possible and I will also contact my local MP to raise the question of whether it is ethical to be deceived in this way."With this: "Jack, as much I love to process you replacement, but Amazon no direct control on the inventory and only the one shipped the item"

Good value for money: works perfectly
This is a good product and works perfectly. The ability to adjust colour balance is an added bonus when dealing with faded slides. One negative point: the slide carrier was very stiff to insert in the beginning but is now OK.

Reasonably priced but the quality of images is not great
I wanted a cheap solution for me to scan 1000+ old slides before they deteriorate completely and to make space in my loft. It is easy to use and it's easy to scan 4 slides per minute using the device, but the output is disappointing and it is incapable of coping with slides with a wide range of tones.

Good value
For the money it is a good buy especially if like me you need digitise over 14,000 slides in a time efficient way. The software driver is good but you cannot rotate slide before saving which is fine once you know. There are a couple little issues the slide container and the image detector are misaligned by about 3 degrees. Not a massive problem but a bit annoying. Also if doing a lot of slides it tends to stop working properly after 30 minutes continuous use so let it cool down for an hour and then its fine.

It's just a webcam with a macro lens
The software doesn't even work on modern operating systems. You will have to use the Camera program on your pc to access it as it's literally just a low resolution webcam with a corrected lens. The images will appear a bit grainy like a webcam, so basically you get what you pay for. The slide holder gets stuck in the device every time, so may need a bit of strength just to swap them out.You may get better results just placing your negative against a light source and using the macro feature on your phone, compared to this device.

scanned image quality is abismal
Bought this and returned it.Have been using an Epson V550 to scan 35mm Kodachrome 64 ASA slides 4 at a time.Thought this would be faster and less hassle. Certainly faster, certainly less hassle, but I would defy anyone to scan a 35mm Kodachrome slide and not say OMG what garbage. This product does not produce High Resolution. I appreciate it is not a £200 scanner but the EPSON is a flat bed that does a host of other things., This device is asked to scan a slide or a negative and does it so so badly that I cannot begin to understand why anyone would give this 5 stars. see comparison scans. Epson at modest 400dpi vs "HR" scanner. See file size (in HR scanner slide was flat just misaligned. Product was already back in the box to return so did not redo example).
