Not expecting to find a solid Christmas story based on the perceived amount of dollars spent. But overall the cast will win you over. Turns out to be a good addition to our Christmas film library.

I love this Christmas movie and look for it every year around Christmas time and can never find it so my wife ordered it for me for Christmas this year and I’m 💯 satisfied with it.

"I'll Be Home For Christmas" is, in my opinion, a great Christmas movie. My father recorded this movie, from television, the night it aired on NBC in 1988, and it has been a Christmas tradition in our house ever since, just like eating pasta with anchovy sauce, fish buns, and pierogies :) When I saw that it was being sold on Amazon, naturally I became excited, because we had lost our original copy of "I'll Be Home For Christmas," and thus had been unable, up until this past Christmas, to watch the movie since maybe Christmas of 2008 or 2009. This movie is, for the most part, a great family movie, and I encourage anyone to purchase it from Amazon, given that Amazon is probably the only trustworthy website where the movie can be purchased from. This is another example of a nice movie that modern-day television channels will not air, which is a shame, because the movie is a great family movie, as well as a great movie for anyone (like me) who is an American History buff. "I'll Be Home For Christmas" takes place during Christmas of 1944, in Rockport, Massachusetts. The movie centers around the Bundy family, a hardworking, loving, New England family who is trying to be together for Christmas during post-Normandy World War II. The family consists of Joseph Bundy, the owner of a family carpentry business ("Bundy and Sons"), his wife and family matriarch Martha Bundy, his oldest son Michael Bundy and Michael's wife Nora (Courtney Cox), his daughter Leah Bundy, and his two youngest sons Terrel Bundy Davie Bundy. Michael is a bomber pilot for the Army Air Corps, who has just completed his required amount of combat missions in Europe and scheduled to return stateside permanently. Terrel is an NCO in the Army, having just completed basic training and stationed at Camp Devens, MA. Leah is on her way home from Pittsfield, MA, where she dedicates her time to the war effort by working at a war plant ("Pittsfield Steel"), and Davie lives at home, still in grade school, who uses his part-time "paperboy" job for the local town newspaper (The Rockport Journal) to daydream about someday fighting in the war and to follow the movements of Michael's combat squadron. Nora lives with Joseph and Martha and is pregnant with her and Michael's first child. In addition to preparing to fight for his country, Terrel and Joseph are inwardly fighting to get along with each other. (Terrel believes that his father loves Michael more than him, and Joseph thinks that Terrel does not want to have anything to do with him). Also, Leah is also grieving the loss of her boyfriend who was an Army infantryman killed at Anzio. Unfortunately, on Christmas Eve, the war department informs Martha that Michael has died in a plane crash that would have brought him home. Upon hearing the news, Nora prematurely goes into labor. However, in the end, Nora gives birth to a baby boy, Terrel and his Joseph reconnect and start a renewed father-son relationship, and Leah begins a new relationship with an Army man. I did not give the movie a fifth star due to mild profanity, as well as a scene that contains sexual overtones. However, this is still a great movie, and I recommend this movie as a great choice to watch during Christmas.

This was a very enjoyable tale of a selfish college kid trying to cross the country in order to get a Porsche, but learning the true meaning of Christmas along the way.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas has been an outstanding actor in his early youth and continues to excel as a young adult actor. The best message in this Xmas story is a young college student discovers the real meaning of Christmas with family and friends, not what if bought-and-paid-for. I bought this DVD movie and intendto share it with my younger relatives for future Xmas Holidays. The episodes in this movie are humorous and really possible. Worthy of a 5-Gold-Star rating!

I bought this DVD as I remember seeing the film at Christmas over thirty years ago. Terrible things happened to the leading family at Christmas, in ways that reminded me of life at Christmas in my home town in Northern Ireland. When you think things could not get worse, they inevitably did. However, everything comes right in One Magic Christmas, due to the actions of a guardian angel. This was the main difference to life in Portadown, where the Guardian Angel chose not to Remain!!!

For a family Christmas movie with a difference, this is a good choice. A 90’s Disney teen movie that’s completely harmless and amusing at times. Kids will enjoy it and parents will chuckle at some moments.A nice little movie to get the family into a Christmas mood!

I have looked for this for awhile now it's just so funny as well as entertaining and it's not just a Christmas movie like all the others it's to do with friendship and family. I like it a lot

Christmas is just the excuse for this film, it could as easily refer to any sort of anniversary at any time of the year.. An excellent film with plenty of laughs and the cast gives the impression that they all enjoyed making it which makes it easy to view and like. So, as a Christmas offering, one of the best. I will be seeing this again.
