TW6030 Elasto-Gel All Purpose Therapy Wrap

My physical therapist used this to treat me post surgery. I loved it so much I had to buy one. This is a replacement for the one my husband somehow broke after I had it for four years and he had it for a single day. Lord knows what he did to it. He claims nothing but that just can’t be true. Lol. Anyway, despite my spouse’s abuse, the original one I had performed flawlessly for years and was used a good 3x a week. What I like most about elasto-gel products is how easily they form to the body part you are treating and how long they stay hot or cold for. It is way longer than other brands and doesn’t damage the skin. I plan to buy another smaller one to send my daughter off to college with.

This gel like wrap is so soothing & soft while getting the cold benefits. Very comfortable on the skin unlike the hard dripping plastic ones . Rolls up neatly to put back in the freezer. It has been a great help getting me through recovery for knee replacement pain & swelling !

The gel pack is dense. Holds its cold for about 45 minutes, maybe. The velcro straps will hold it in place on your knee while your leg is elevated, but not while you’re walking.

Because of arthritis, I often need to use cold on various parts of my anatomy, and I have long had many little plastic cold packs to use. They are very messy and slippery and generally unsatisfactory. The last time I was at the dentist, I had a stiff neck, and the hygienist came up with one of these gel packs. It was wonderful, and stayed in place so well! When I got home I looked them up on the web and ordered one that fits over the shoulders, and a rectangular wrap. They come in many shapes and sizes. They can also be warmed in the microwave for heat application.

I have a few of these of different sizes -- for treating a sore knee. I bought this brand because it was the type used at the physical therapy office. So far, they have held up to a lot of use and time in the freezer. The cover comes off easily for washing in the machine. I use cold water and then line dry.The only downside is that they are rectangular and not custom=shaped for the knee. So they generally won't stay put unless you are sitting and/or have your leg elevated. In other words, they will fall down your leg if you try to walk around while using them.

I have two of these that I use for headaches. I like to wrap them completely around my head covering the base of my skull and my eyes. I do wish that the straps were longer, as the velcro does get hooked on the fabric. Not super cold, but stays cold much longer than most of my other cold packs.
