Tesla Model 3 / Model Y Center Console Wrap - Matte Deep Black (Gen 1.0)

Just take your time! The wrap looks really nice, and wasn’t too difficult to install. Just take your time and line everything up before you stick it down for good. I was Able to peel it up and re-stick it after a failed attempt a one of the pieces. Way better looking than my shiny scratched up plastic hiding underneath !

Its too flimsy which made it difficult to install

I wouldn't say it is 4 out of 5 as most cosmetic issues are from the install.Easiness to install: 7 / 10Time needed to install: 20 minutes (take your time)Some things I recommend to follow:-Follow the included instructions at least for the cup holder section-When using the clear plastic to hold onto the cup holder vinyl, make sure it holds it flat and well before removing the backing from the vinyl.-Be sure to thoroughly wipe the surface down with IPA and make sure there's no dirt or residue.I installed the storage console piece first, aligning to the silver as much as possible, then while holding the vinyl, squeegeed from center outwards, tucking in the edges.Cup holder section I used the clear plastic applicator but did not do it properly. Removed the vinyl from the surface at least 4 times to align.Notice the bubbles in the photos. As long as you do not force the vinyl it will not tear. Light stretch is ok. Overall a good buy, nice protective layer.Scratches and bubbles from install are minor and I intend to slowly work them out. Please see photos. Was nice that I could watch the installation video right on my Tesla screen while I was doing the installation. Overall, it is pretty easy to install if you take your time and follow the video instructions. Oddly, I had the hardest time getting the cell phone ledge cover wrapped. The nylon is pretty thin, and ripped at one point when I was trying to pull it back off. But it was a relatively small tear, and it's on the edge that wraps around the top of the phone ledge, so you can't see it unless you're REALLY looking for it. One disappointing thing, the wrap for the center console door had a line across the middle of it, which you can see in the picture. It came that way. It doesn't look like a scratch so much as almost a seam. It's unfortunate to have the flaw on an otherwise really good looking kit, and the reason I docked it a star.

If you are hesitating to purchase, and doubt your ability to install this counselor wrap, don’t! I purchased the wrap and delayed installing it for a couple weeks, thinking it would be overly difficult and would never yield the desired result. I read through the reviews and questions several times, and must’ve watched the install video 6-8 times. I’m a professional woman, with no experience in anything like this. Following the directions provided in the video, I installed these without issue in less than an hour. What an amazing difference! I purchased the matte black. So much better looking than the fingerprint and smudge magnet stock piano black! Just watch the video (I played it in the car again as I was doing the installation, piece by piece, ) follow the directions closely, and take your time with the installation. Good lighting and a cocktail also help. : ) It’s truly a user-friendly kit that yields professional results at a fraction of the cost.

Nearly impossible to install the matte black wrap and get a flawless look. You would be better off buying the 3M wrap in bulk, removing the pieces from the car, applying the film, and then trimming it exactly. Buying in bulk will also give you a bunch of do-overs.Unless you work with this stuff every day you have little chance of getting a perfect application. Total waste of money.UPDATE: I decided to give it another try and ordered another kit. If you follow the video EXACTLY and take your time, you can get a decent result. The written directions are useless -- just watch the video a few times. My installation isn't perfect, but most people can't even find the imperfections that I caused. Updating to four stars.

If you own a Model 3, you know what a dust and fingerprint magnet the center console is, and if you're OCD like me, it probably makes you nuts. This wrap is the perfect solution to that problem. Plus, the matte finish matches the rest of the interior so it looks awesome.The upper and middle sections went on quickly. I had a little trouble with the back section around the cupholders, but this isn't a fault of the wrap. It's just a little awkward to line up, so I probably spent as much time on that piece as I did the other two combined. (Maybe 25 minutes total.) Just make sure to follow the instructions, clean it well and TAKE YOUR TIME, and you won't have any problems installing it.I really appreciate that the company will give you one free replacement piece, so if you screw up on one, don't worry.I've had mine on for about a month and a half, and we've had some warm days (90+ degrees). I was afraid that the wrap might start to come off, but it has stayed on perfectly.

Fantastic product - color and texture of the wrap is exactly what I wanted. Perfect for your Tesla if you've got TONS of patience and steady hands. I don't. 30 minutes into installing the first piece and I gave up after I couldn't get it lined up correctly. Now I know vinyl console wraps are not for me to do on my own. They do offer an install guarantee where they'll replace a piece, but that would only further my frustration, another wasted piece, and lead to a higher dosage of blood pressure medication.
