The peppermint smells delightful.
My scalp is very sensitive. When I washed & rinsed my scalp felt refreshed. Also, I didn't feel any residue left in my hair (locs).

PEPPERMINT SHAMPOO
I purchased the Northwest Scents Peppermint Moisturizing Shampoo and have used it for about 1 month. It is somewhat moisturizing, but I also purchased this product, because I love peppermint! While some/many people might be turned off by a strong peppermint smell, I adore it! So, I add between 3-7 drops of peppermint oil and let the coolness and tingling begin! I use many different types of shampoo, and I also use two other brands of peppermint shampoo; Avalon Organics, and Crew. They are basically similar in their moisturizing affects on my hair. I have also saturated my scalp with coconut milk or virgin coconut oil (30 mins-2 hours with a shower cap) before rinsing and shampooing with this shampoo. Love the smell!

Not for Mediterranean curls; Trader Joes works better
The scent is nice, like doublemint gum, and it is tingly. But it didn't hydrate my thick Mediterranean curls. The conditioner didn't untangle at all; I couldn't run my fingers through my hair while it was on it, even when using almost a cup's worth. My hair became frizzy again.I gave it a good try (3 weeks) and my hair is now frizzy, tangled, and not as shinny or hydrated. My scalp isn't itchy, but that was the case with Trader Joe's shampoo too.I am going back to Trader Joe's mint shampoo and conditioner. Those are also natural, cheaper, and work much better.

WHat?!
Yes it's kind of expensive, but a little goes a long way. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT product. This, plus the conditioner and oil last me about a month and a half The peppermint leaves your scalp feeling like someones blowing on it. I"m natural (AA woman with 4c hair) so this and the whole product line was everything I was looking for in a hair care product.

Love the Peppermint !!
I work out regularly and use the peppermint shampoo for a nice refreshing feeling. I have found the best way is to shampoo twice in the shower, add conditioner and detangle in the shower (I know you need lots of hot water for this some days). I put it in one braid and then add a little more conditioner once out of the shower. I let my hair dry for a while before styling. If you use the peppermint shampoo and conditioner you will feel crisp breezes blowing across your scalp. This is so fabulous in the hot summer! As I know some details are important my hair is fine and I have lots of strands. You can imagine what detangle can be like. My African American hair is very tightly coiled but I can smooth it down with conditioner and a scarf to get waves. I also use the hair oil and shampoo on on my daughter's hair which is curly, as in Caucasian like curly. It gets frizzy without the oil but is very nice and smooth with it. I put it on after her bath and comb it through. The next day her hair is silky waves. Without it she looks like she rubbed her hands on an electrically charged balloon.
