Great pencils
I have been wanting to try the Derwent Drawing Pencils for a while and when I saw this small set with its own tin for a good price I ordered it. The tin comes in a small box which was really well packed in bubble wrap. Kudos to the seller! The tin and pencils came in perfect condition along with a sharpener in the tin which is convenient. This set is earth tones plus black and white. They lay down smoothly and deliver rich color. I am very happy with my purchase.

If you use colored pencils this set is a must!!!
This is truly the brightest, most opaque white you’ll ever find. Caran d’ache luminescence is another great one, but at $6 a pencil WHY? The derwent drawing pencils are just a must have when hyping up values. These aren’t purchased for their bright colors, these are the perfect for working on values and values are the most important part of any drawing. The is a “must have set.”

great pensils
Pleasant to use. Very soft, easy to layer. The saturation of white and black is superior to Pоlychromos, but they break more often. The question of light fastness remains. We liked it very much, we will buy more.

Love the Chinese white it's the best white pencil I have found out there! This is a great little set to have & I actually love the little sharpener it works great on my Derwent pencils!

I am a bit dissapointed..but read this cause you may not be.
This set has great colors, and if you are planning (only) to draw with them you will probably like them very much. I love Derwent but this time I am not happy with these.I have some old pencils from many years ago bought individually and based on my experience with those, I decided to get a new set. Unfortunately, this new set are not as soft and creamy as they used to be, if you do mix media and you are looking for pencils which would melt like butter with a bit of water look somewhere else. That was the reason I purchased these, but sadly they do not compare to the old Derwent Drawing. The old ones would dissolve completely with water almost like watercolor pencils, or soft as pastel pencils. These instead leave marks and lines on the paper not matter how much you try to blend. Over all, I can still use them for drawing and you can do too! But I was expenting the same quality and properties of the old ones. So! if you want pencils to do some drawing only you will enjoy these very much, I am sure but if you happen to be looking for these for the same reason I was, let's find something else.

Ohhhhhhhhhh my gooodnessss
Derwent Drawing Pencil’s have such an unusual feel in a colored pencil range. Very very different as it feels almost like a thick paste wax type thing. You feel no grit or sand pigment type feel as one usually does with any colored pencil. I would say they feel more like Holbein than any other. Being drawing pencils the formula is really nice to have something within the core “catch” the paper that’s not giving a dry pigment look. Loved them and their colors (love muted and dark) but wouldn’t use them to fill in large areas.. it’s too hard to get the look right (think oil pastels) bc of the thickness needed to fill it.. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was truly an oil pastel in a harder formula encased in a pencil.I had to get the full set. So might as well get the full set too. They are a great addition to your collection.

Quality Drawing Supplies
Derwent is a quality name in art supplies and this set doesn't disappoint. There are a good variety of brown colors and the sharpener is a nice addition. The tin helps to keep the pencils neat and within easy reach.

Bien

Disappointed by quality of package
Pencils are absolutely fine quality no doubt on that but I have 2 complaints on packaging quality first was the tin box was rusted and little damaged , second is the pencils seems way too old , the colors was faded but after I shared it it worked fine, my point is Derwent is a very reputable company of art supplies and well known for its quality of product and packaging to the customer, I have spend so much on this just I wanted to be it more Supremely clean and valuable. When I opened my package It looked so old tin box and pencils.
