I don’t know why I didn’t search for these before I paid several hundred dollars for new key fobs and programming. So when those replacements eventually were dropped and broke, I looked for a less expensive solution. They key fobs still worked, but when they hit the street the plastic tabs and held their halves together broke and they wouldn’t stay closed any more (the same thing that happened to the original fobs we received with the Ford Edge.This I expensive solutions snaps over the top of the key fob, holds it together, and gives you access to all the buttons. There is also small cutout that lets you see the Ford logo. It is well designed and is tough. I’ve dropped it in a parking lot and it held up perfectly with no scrapes or damage after hitting the pavement. I will not need to buy expensive new key fobs due to an accident again!

Good cover
Happy to have found this cover for the fob. The metal part had broken of the actual fob and my son was carrying it around in two pieces that could have been easily lost. This was an easy solution to keep the two pieces together. The cover is sturdy and has an appealing design.

A shroud for your existing cover, not a replacement.
This shroud snaps over the existing key fob housing. It doesn't replace it. So, if you are in the situation I am in and the fob is very worn in places, it will still look that way. Nevertheless, the shroud fits well and seems durable. I took the time to replace both batteries in the remote (two of them, stacked) and snapped the housing over the top. Easy to install.One thing. The remote works just fine, but the housing may make it too large to fit into the cloning / programming location inside the center console.

Broken
This has a silver over mold to look fancy, but it's made with to thin of walls and should be a single mold of top and bottom. This was broken.
