Sturdy and useful
For my situation I wanted to mount my microphone arm onto the wall to free up space on my desk. Unfortunately, I was not able to mount it properly thanks to strange stud orientation. The placement of the screws is a little wider than most studs I've seen, (about 1/2 - 1 inch from the side screws to center screw horizontally, so around 2 inches between both side screws.Unfortunately for my situation, but if you mount them properly on a brick wall this should work well for your needs.Besides that, the material itself is very sturdy, it's a solid piece of metal with a hollow inside and mounting holes for the massive screws it requires.

Works Perfectly With RODE Boom Arm
My desk couldn't accommodate the clamp mount for a RODE swing arm boom. This mount worked perfectly. Although a little pricey ... the quality is excellent and I have no regrets.

Very good mount.
Very secure mount, unlike the screw clamps with come loose or the swivel disk on end breaks, this mount is simple and screw mounted to wall or some vertical surface. Only negative is it is expensive for what it is.

Using with 48" Samson boom/scissor arm
Although the 48" Samson has 2 desk-mount options, I needed to get the mic arm off the desk and onto the wall. This surface mount did the trick. It is really solid and holds the arm steady (without tightening the thumbscrew...I like the option of freely swiveling my mic into place). But DON'T mount this directly to the wall (even if you can get two screws to bite into a stud) if you will have a lot of leverage on the surface mount. My Samson is very tight when trying to extend. Well, when I had the Heil mounted directly to the wall, I pulled a chunk of drywall out with my first extension. EZ fix, tho. I just mounted a 3" wide x 10" tall piece of 1/2" lumber to the wall/stud and then attached the Heil to that.

Solid mount and works well with the Rode PS1 arm, with one minor hack.
Overall I'm happy with this mount. I bought it to mount my Rode PS1 mic arm to the side of my desk (no lip to use the clamp). The mount is extremely sturdy and the PS1 arm fits snugly in the mount. There is no wobble in the mount or arm.One issue I did run into is the brass bushing for the mic arm pin is slightly recessed. This left the Rode arm base grinding a bit, metal on metal, on the top of the mount. Easy fix though. I added several nylon washers (product info below) between the arm and mount. Now the arm moves freely and without any issues. I wish the mount bushing was a bit proud above the mount base, or that a nylon washer/bushing was included with either the mount or the arm (not really blaming anyone here, the products are from different companies and not really built for one another), but it wasn't a massive issue and I'm happy with the results.Nylon 6/6 Flat Washer, Plain Finish, Black, 1/2" Hole Size, 0.5" ID, 0.75" OD, 0.06" Nominal Thickness (Pack of 100)https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B009OLO42G/

Sturdy, easy to install
I use two, one for a mic boom and one for a tablet boom. Mount is a sturdy piece, 3 beefy screws for securing to your vertical surface. Recommend making a template with a scrap of cardboard or paper, and drilling pilot holes.

Wider Than a Standard US Wall Stud
I'm not sure why these are so wide, because it's wider than a stud. Additionally, they use size #14 screws, so finding a drywall anchor to fit that leads to a bit of... overkill. Regardless, I used 2 drywall anchors with longer #12 screws purchased from Home Depot as the ones with this mount are about an inch in length and too short to use with anchors. The bottom of the mount I installed into the stud, and it's quite sturdy.I have the Samson MBA38 desk mount boom and it mounts beautifully. Any boom with a 1/2" end will work with this mount.

Woks.
I did swap out the screws for sturdier ones, but besides that it does what I want not to do - hold my mic arm.

I would rate this thing higher, but my Neewer ...
I would rate this thing higher, but my Neewer Advanced NW-35 Microphone Suspension Boom doesn't fit in the thing =T I have to buy NEW boom arms, AGAIN, to be able to use this thing, and as they're the only Boom arm Wall Mounts on the entire site....this is a pain.
