HeiLSound RS-1 12" Riser for PL-2T, SB-2, HB-1 Overhead Broadcast Booms

I bought this for a Rode PSA1+, planning to cut off the riser's base so it would hopefully slide into the Rode desk mount that comes with the PSA1+. First thing's first, the PSA1+ arm could not fit better into the heil riser - it's like they were made for each other, except the arm's peg doesn't sink as far down into the riser as it naturally does into Rode's desk mount. This is because the PSA1+ peg is 2 tiered, with a smaller diameter metal portion below a larger diameter plastic portion. The smaller diameter metal section slides into the heil like a glove, leaving the larger plastic diameter resting on top. You could probably pop the plastic portion off so it's allowed to sink further, but it's sturdy enough as-is, and I want to leave my options open in the future.Second, I'm glad to say I was able to cut off the riser's base and decrease its diameter enough to where it now slides into the Rode desk mount tightly and securely. I did all of this by hand using only the naked eye and the circular cutting wheel on a dremel. So 1) Rode PS1+ mates perfectly with the heil right out of the box, if you have no qualms about screwing the heil to your desk, and 2) with some patient modifications the heil can be made to slide perfectly into a Rode desk mount so you can reap the benefits of the riser without having to drill into your desk.P.S. If you do plan on modifying the riser as I have done so it fits into the Rode desk mount, be sure you take note of the 2 tier design of the PS1+ peg, because this is what you will need to replicate when adjusting the hiel's diameter.

This has saved me a headache from looking around my microphone to see my computer screen. I know it's very expensive, considering it's a piece of metal. But, my mic is secure and serves it's purpose.

I bought this as a riser for my microphone set up in my office. Unfortunately, the mic stand I have is MILLIMETERS too big to fit into the riser hole (blue compass boom arm), BUT this is a quality piece of equipment. I would 10/10 buy it again for a proper mic stand.
