Surprisingly, it really does work quite well.
I was worried when the first 13 pages of the instruction manual consisted of a sales pitch for a product that I've clearly already purchased. Incidentally, the actual instructions only cover 5 pages. I was even more worried after reading the sales pitch; I found it to be meandering, repetitive, and childish in its wording. And I was really, really worried when they invented a silly pseudo-science word like "Oxyion" to describe what the product generates. In fact, it makes ozone. Ozone is a strong oxidizer, which reacts vigorously with microorganisms and kills them. In doing so, it degrades into normal oxygen. It is safe in low concentrations. Somehow, they managed to turn that into a 13 page rant that sounded like it was describing the magic healing power of crystals.BUT, the product works - and works well. So I have to tip my hat to them in the end. It has three setting: low, high, and turbo (which is fan assisted). The idea is to start off with a higher setting at first to neutralize the odor and then scale it back so that the ozone creation matches the odor creation and they more or less cancel each other out. The "high" setting works for me. It really does kill the litter box odor. I have a covered box, and I can get right up next to it without a whiff. And, I only smell ozone at about one foot's distance from the unit, which I have mounted about a foot above and just behind the litter box.On a safety note, well, so far both me and the cat are still alive. Also, my nose and throat are not irritated at all, so I'm assuming the ozone levels are OK. In fact, I think my health is better now without the constant background smell/pollution/irritation from the litter box. I was skeptical at first, but I am a happy customer.Hopefully if enough people buy this product, the company will be able to afford a better writer for their manual and then it will be perfect product.

Pay heed to the warnings, made my cat sick
Despite the conflicting reviews I decided to try this product as I have 2 cats who are EXTREMELY stinky poopers and having had no luck with candles and other air fresheners I was a little desperate.Well, desperation makes fools of us all at some point, and this time it was my turn. For reference, my litter box is in a fairly large, extremely well-ventilated room and I set up the product on the lowest setting and placed it as instructed by the product manual (in my case, on top of the litter box, as it is an enclosed-type but without a front 'door' so it basically has one side that is just a giant hole/opening.Only a couple days after setting it up, one of my cats is now vomiting every time he uses the litter box. Since I have 2 cats and only one is exhibiting this behavior, it would seem this is sort of an individual thing from cat to cat, which would also make sense given the mixed reviews here on Amazon. Some people seem to have no issues using it in a tiny closet with 3 cats, whereas I'm using it in a living room, next to a window, on the lowest setting, and it's causing problems.I will be attempting to return the catmouse, however it is shipped in that really annoying kind of sealed-plastic packaging which makes it impossible to get out without completely destroying the package in the process. Hopefully they will accept it as a return. I should note that it did do a very good job of odor elimination, so it works as advertised on that front, but is not as safe as advertised, which is pretty important.Buyer beware. You are rolling the dice with your cats health with this product. Your kitties might be fine, but they might not be.

Catmouse is mousey
All these rave reviews about this product. You know what they say: if it sounds to good to be true....I have two 12 week old kittens. One of those litter box covers that look like a cabinet. I buy the premium litter that breaks the bank. I clean the box TWICE a day. Having this thing hung over the box has made NO DIFFERNCE. It states that the ordor will be gone within 12 hours..... IT'S BEEN A WEEK! Complete waste of money. If I didn't throw the box out that it came in I'd send it back. May make a great paperweight.

Too many cats, 3 CatMice, NO Odor
The cons: Each unit is bigger than I expected, but the size is still manageable. I can tuck each one out of sight easily, but I still prefer they were battery-operated, so I don't have to hide the cord. The pros: This product really works. I plugged one in about four feet from the most popular litter box in the house (and my biggest problem area) and within half an hour, the area was odor free!

better than without it but not perfect
i guess I was hoping for too much - something that would keep up with the smell of two cats, but its definitely better than without it.

Lives up to the hype
After tons of research I decided on this item mostly based on the stellar reviews. I thought it would be worth it if it turned out to be 2/3 as good as everyone was saying. Well, I'm here to tell you this things is just as amazing as everyone says. I recently downsized my apartment and had to get creative with my litter box location (NYC living!). This thing is so great that I'm able to keep the litter box in my bedroom. After seeing the difference this has made in my home, my boyfriend is ordering one for his place.LOVE this!!

Works pretty good
This did help with the litter box odor. But when we got another cat, it didn't seem to help. I have concluded that we have one cat that is extra stinky.
