Subwoofer crossover. New life to an expired sub.
Works as it should

It is tunable in the 146 - 240 Hz range
Measured coil inductance with capacitor in series gives resonance at 146 Hz. If you like to shift the cross-over frequency higher you may remove the screws and the ferromagnetic core blades to boost it to 240 Hz. Or, remove only some of the core blades to tune it as you like. The capacitor is 188 uF and the inductor with core should be about 6.25 mH with self-resonance above 200 KHz. Since this is a resonating circuit the impedance of the driver in parallel to the capacitor (and in series to the coil) only has impact on the slope, 8 Ohms driver will cause stepper pass-thru slope of the signal.

used for uncongenial arrangement, but it served its purpose
i used this crossover temporarily running a 4 ohm sub from the 100W middle channel of a yamaha AVR. It did the job i asked of it no issues whatsoever.this was a temporary arrangement so i cant comment on the lifetime of the product. The capacitor is definitely of unknown chinese quality origins.

Perfect deep bass
I bought this to fix a powered Polk Audio sub woofer. The original power amp fried beyond repair. So I acquired an NHT SA-1 mono amp to power it. I got this crossover along with banana plug terminals to turn this once powered sub into a passive sub. It works beautifully. This crossover is fully compatible with pre-amp adjustments of frequency response. The top end of this crossover is 120hz. It produces loud, thunderous bass; even more than this sub ever did when it was new!If you are making your own sub, or repairing an old one, I HIGHLY recommend this crossover.

It's ok
Installed it to a subwoofer and it wasn't as expected. It did increase the bass but no where near what I thought it would do.

Actually works well
So definitive technology wouldn't replace the amp that blow,,,soooo I removed amp and noticed the mids and highs have a crossover but the subwoofer amp that blow was also the crossover for the sub, took out amp wired in crossover for subwoofer and tower sounds amazing. Lol minus Definitive technology amp!!!!hahahah

Worked for about 2 minutes
Just quit for no apparent reason after about 2 minutes. I only had it hooked up to an 6.75" 8ohm woofer, supplying it with 20w (max) from 1 channel of a mini-amp. It's too bad because it sounded like the frequency cut-off was right on, so I wish it would have lasted.UPDATE.... I tried replacing the capacitor on this crossover and it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what else could go wrong with a crossover, except maybe the winding shorted or something, but that still makes no sense because it never got hot and I didn't over-amp it.

Good for PWM filtering
I use this to filter the output from a motor driver that is being controlled by a PWM square wave. I placed this device between the motor driver and a computer fan, enabling me to control the fan speed. This filter eliminated a whistle that was coming from the fan due to the square wave. Filter cutoff is 120 Hz. I'm using the 977 Hz PWM from Arduino Nano pin D5. It should work, however, with the 490 Hz from other Arduino pins. This device seems to be very well constructed.
