Product Description The series that redefined anime on television in North America! All 49 episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is finally available for DVD collectors in sturdy collectors box set! Originally created by Yoshiyuki Tomino (Mobile Suit Gundam), directed by Masashi Ikeda, and character designs by Shukou Murase Get Ready to Suit Up! The space colonies have grown tired of the oppressive rule by the Earth government! They rule unjustly and unfairly, but not unopposed. Resistance forces in the colonies have created special Mobile Suits called Gundams and chosen five young pilots to sneak down to Earth and begin a campaign that will end the Earth government's rule forever! These pilots carry the hopes and dreams of thousands of people with them as they descend to Earth to fight for their freedom. .com Gundam Wing (1995-96), a 49-part series in the Alternate Universe continuity, scored a hit in the U.S. when it aired on the Cartoon Network. In the year 195 A.C. (After Colony), much of humanity has emigrated to orbiting Space Colonies; those who remained on Earth are governed by the oppressive United Earth Sphere Alliance. But the real power is wielded by the sinister Romefeller Foundation, whose directors plot to control Earth and the Colonies through their puppet military entity OZ, led by Zechs Marquise and Treize Khushrenada. Five teenage pilots in Gundam mecha suits strike at Earth, hoping to aid the rebel Colonists: sullen Heero Yuy, happy-go-lucky Duo Maxwell, former circus acrobat Trowa Barton, sensitive Quatre Raberba, and icy WuFei Chang. The convoluted story line pits the Romefeller Foundation, the rebellious "Treize Faction" of OZ, the Gundam Pilots, and royal pacifist Relena Peacecraft against each other. But it's primarily a battle between the adherents of a samurai-style code of honor and the soulless adherents of realpolitik. When the Romefeller Foundation begins manufacturing Mobile Dolls (pilotless battle robots), the Gundam pilots, Zechs, and Treize object, not because they can make the Foundation all-powerful, but because they will deprive human warriors of the singular emotions experienced through heroism in battle. The uninitiated may have trouble following the plot: strange revelations abound (e.g., Relena discovers Zechs is her long-lost brother) and characters disappear for a dozen or more episodes, only to return when a deus ex machina is needed. But Gundam fans aren't interested in tightly woven story lines or credible character arcs, and Gundam Wing delivers plenty of battles between the splendidly designed robots. It's a classic confrontation between good guys with invincible weapons and soulless bad guys who can't hit the broad side of a robot. (Rated 13 and older: occasional profanity, robot vs. robot violence) --Charles Solomon

The return of a Legend part 1
Although this is not as highly rated as other Gundam that came later or before it, this is considered a masterpiece by many United States fans including myself as it is the first Gundam we ever watched probably as kids besides the 8th Ms team. Overall it is aged quite well the voice actors are still well defined and totally enjoyable septum is totally still acting like an ass I still give this show a Solid 5 stars.

This show is Amazing to look at in Blueray!
This Show looks Great on Blue ray after not watching the series for 20 years and now seeing in its uncut form I freaking love it! This Product is great minus the green text on the back of the blueray being hard to see on a black background. I never noticed the long but satisfying character archs throughout this series and loving the characters even more. I'm 32yrs old and I love this series!! Heres what you get if you love Gundam Wing buy this!!

Long live 90's anime
Iv'e waited a very long time to find Gundam Wing on dvd for a reasonable price. This is a slice of my childhood from the 90's, which I might add was a great time to grow up..... I never thought I'd sound like my mother, but now I understand what it's like to long for the past every once in awhile. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is just the ticket for memory lane.I forgot how beautiful the character design was in this anime. It's so detailed and simplistic at the same time. It's got that 90's gritty feel, with the saxaphone music here and there, and the city lights, the clothing, I just love it!

Brand new Blu-Ray
Blu Ray came wrapped in clear cellophane. So far, perfect discs, no defects. I've missed this anime so much. I originally watched it when it was part of the Cartoon Network's Toonami lineup back in the mid-90's. The voice acting is superb.

good, but wait.
Well, I pre-ordered this item and just got it on the 10th. Disc 1 is very engaging, it's a good series, different from the rest of the gundam's animation, which could be considered good or bad for some people who are harsh on animation. Fight scenes are good. Time has allowed more action sequences seen, unlike gundam wing and those before it where it's the same like beam saber slash, sandrock slashing through two leos, etc. Pretty good so far on the character development. English voices are very good, bandai imo does an excellent job staying close to the actual translation. I found Lacus's english voice to be annoying compared to the japanese voice, and the songs she sings in english arent the same lyrics, even though it doesn't show her lip movement singing them. So, hmm, wtf. The other characters are great, so it's unfortunate that I have to switch back just to hear lacus in japanese at times lol. There are glitches on the discs so I'd recommend not buying it until they issue fixed discs. Episodes 9, 10, 14, 24, 25 all experienced lock up/freeze problems. My laptop dvd player wouldn't even play disc 2, my desktop did though and only locked up on the episodes that were bugged. Check bandai's website to see when they issue the new ones and then pick it up imo. It's a good price for the first half of the series. If you did buy this already and experience the same problems I did, call bandai and they will send you an email with the info on how to return the dvds and address. cost me $3.45 for like 3 seed discs and 3 gundam wing discs i had problems with. should take about a week and a half to get the new ones back to me.

First Love
Broadcasted on American TV in 2000, "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" (originally entitled "New Mobile Report Gundam Wing") was the country's first exposure to a franchise that has captivated Japanese viewers for over 2 decades, roping in a new fanbase. And now Bandai's "Anime Legends" branch has released this series in 2 money/space-saving bundles, the first bundle containing the first 25 episodes in 5 disks. In the After Colony (AC) year 195, mankind has found a new home in space colonies. But Earth's unified government rules the colonies with an iron fist, using giant robotic mobile suits to keep the populace in line. Fed up, colonial rebels pair 5 teenage soldiers--including the suicidal Heero Yuy--with the most advanced mobile suits and send them to Earth to wreak havoc. But the chosen few tasked with liberating their people sure have their work cut out for them. While this series was popular on both sides of the Pacific--and the first alternate universe Gundam show to get its own sequel--it also had its fair share of critics, particularly those who were already familiar with Gundam. For starters, any diehard fan can point out the dozens of cues "Wing" takes from earlier Gundam shows and films. You've got the oppressive Earth government ("Zeta Gundam"), the masked villain with a hidden agenda ("Mobile Suit Gundam"), the hero's girlfriend who's also the sister of said villain ("MSG" again), soldiers who've missed their psychiatric evaluations (take your pick) and so forth. Another negative is how the show's diverse, but bizarre, cast of characters constantly talk about war and peace. While this is a central feature in all things Gundam, and while some of what is said makes sense, it's mostly philosophical babble used to make the show sound more intellectually refined than it really is (and in some cases, this actually worked). And "Wing's" not so big on character development either. Take Relena Darlian, the hero's girlfriend/masked villain's sister. Though she's supposedly an important character, she doesn't really do anything except follow Heero around, and he's trying to kill her . . .So as not to end this review on a sour note, "Wing" flies in other areas. Amazon reviewer Charles Solomon once said that Gundam fans care more about mecha battles than tightly woven storylines or credible character arcs, and to a certain extent he's right. "Wing" has plenty of robot-on-robot action to go around. Though the one-sided fights between the Gundams and the cannon fodder get old after a while, the bad guys soon up the ante with their own secret weapons. For those who have watched the show on TV, watching it in its original Japanese format makes for a new and interesting experience. And for those who buy DVD's for the Easter eggs, each disc in the collection feature character bios and mech specs (both of which can be found online), DVD credits, and assorted anime trailers from Bandai. This series is rated for ages 13 and up: Violence, Adult Language.

A day long remembered
Gundam Wing Is something I've had on my watch list fur a LOOONG Time. HERO Guy is a Helarious character who seemingly wants to blow everything and everyone up for NO APPARENT reason. But if you can get past that and the princess with a casual death wish then it's a really good story after the first few eps.

Love it
I love Gundam Wing. I just love it.For years I've hesitated to buy it. But now that I have, I love it and I regret nothing. There are complex characters, great robot fights, and war story. They are melding together to make an excellent animated classic no one should pass up.But to the weary buyer, you should keep in mind the box set, especially old ones. If the package is mishandled, by the buyer or post office or whoever, a DVD might have the possibility of popping out. I'm only mentioning this because my second disc popped out with few scratches. But it's no reason, for me, to give it one less star. When I first popped the DVD into my DVD player/Blu-ray player, I fell in love with the series once again. Just hearing "Just Communication" by Two-Mix in the introsequence sent me reeling back to my teen years... which, as nostalgia is known to cause, is a good thing and a bad thing.-

Did you like Gundam Seed?
Well, when I first saw this, I thought it was real movies about Gundam Seed (like Ova), but it's not that... These 3 movies are a recapitulation of all the episodes, so it's like "If you don't have the time to check the 50 episodes, then check these 3 movies and you will know the story in "general""... I was disapointed, but well, I got the OST with it, so it lowered my frustation..
