JBL American Made African Mahogany Or Aluminum Spear Gun

Excellent shooter, very powerful and very well built (so far). Only used it 4-5 times but shot lots of fish. The reason only 4 stars is because it’s really a scuba gun or for shallow water freedive. It’s a little heavy (activity really heavy.. My 2 sons have AB Biller 42 specials, mahogany but their guns are significantly lighter, & longer. If you freedive 80 feet and are very particular about conservation energy/oxygen this is a little clunky and sinks too fast. My next gun will be carbon fiber but I’m keeping this for shallow water dives because it’s a great gun!

Pictured is the Woody Magnum Sawed Off with the black plastic tip and three bands, you actually get the Woody Elite Sawed Off with two bands.The description, photos, and title on this item are at best very poorly written and incorrect and at worst intentionally deceptive.The item came in a plastic bag packed inside a box that was four times too big and they used almost no padding. So the item arrived damaged.I’ve always used pole spears growing up, but finally decided to try out a spear gun. The gun still functioned and performed well. I actually really liked the gun, but it was very difficult to load. So difficult actually that I could only ever get one band on there. I learned you pretty much need a chest pad and there are a few techniques to help load cause the gun is actually quite long. I’m 5’8 and definitely couldn’t reach the bands with the butt of the gun resting on my chest.The line also got a little tangled up, there’s a pretty specific way you have to feed it past the bands.All in all my experience with the gun was maybe a 3.5/5, but the experience with shipment was a 0/5, and the item description was a 0/5 so I’m giving it a 2/5 as a warning to others.I returned this item today and will be purchasing an AB biller speargun that’s slightly shorter and has a better line attachment spot to avoid some of that tangle mess that I had. Also hoping it’s packed well and arrives undamaged!

Fantastic well made product. And very powerful. For those looking at shooting larger fish with this you will need to get a reel and line for it. It already has a rail mounted on the bottom of the gun so attaching a reel is a breeze. Overall I completely love this gun. I will end up getting another.

Nice gun , I bought jbl 42 before I ask the seller the band broke and gun go down to 80 ft seller it's my fault, I hope this note do with me same as other seller of jbl did, I give him 5* for this gun it is accurate and good power, if anything happens on the review after few months wood broke then I know which one I am buying

I bought this speargun to beging fishing, all the fisherman that see my gun said, that is amazing and powerfull. Now i know when i become a expert fisherman won`on have to buy another speargun
