The Full Armor of God: Defending Your Life From Satan's Schemes

This book is by far the most practical and applicable book I've read on the subject matter of the armor of God and definitely the first I've read to draw conjunction between each piece of armor and the chapters in Ephesians. I've already recommended it to several peers ad there are many books out there on spiritual things that are more ethereal and less fundamental in the scriptures . Larry Richards does not shy away from the Spirit but he makes sure he stays within the scripture and his context, particularly his context is accurate . My only small gripe is the use of versions when using scriptures, it wasn't always noted, and I prefer kjv but it's as simple as pulling it up for reference , no biggie. Doesn't take away the substance. Get the book.

I appreciated the background early in the book. This book gave a little more insight into each piece of armour, aspects that I had not heard before. I feel each piece was explained by finding patterns in Paul's letter that constantly reinforce the ideas, which is nice, something I notice myself when studying the word. Do not read if you have not read and studied the book of Ephesians first. This is supplemental. The book only lacked a good summary that clearly separates each piece by their uniqueness. But if you note what stands out to you in each piece it can give you a better understanding.

I find this book offers a fresh new approach to the meaning and application of the spiritual armor of God for the believer. Richards explains how God has provided the spiritual protection we need to win over Satan's schemes. There is also a help appendix and woven into the book are helpful word studies that helps the reader better understand and apply these biblical concepts to life. This is an EXCELLENT book! Buy it and read it soon. This is one of the few honest, spiritual writings that I have read. This book comments on the wonderful scripture describing The Full Armor of God that we should all don through our time in this fallen state. Very well written. Easy to follow. Biblically correct

Life changing book!!! As believers we know about putting on the full armor of God but what does that actually mean. This book dives deep into the armor, and what we need to do as believers to protect against an enemy that wants to destroy us. I recently bought a copy for my dad and he's excited to read it!

The author did a great job of explaining the pieces of armor, satan’s schemes and practical applications on how to use the armor. I recommend this book for anyone wanting an introduction or a refresher to any other studies on Ephesians 6.

This is a wonderful way to present the armour of God and explain it. Author is clear on his subject and did research. I just finished a precept class on the armour with Kay Arthur and yet this was a new approach and filled in with some history. Give it a try and see what I mean.

A word of caution regarding how the Amazon website links items: this Larry Richards is not the same as Fr. Larry Richards (author of "Be A Man", etc.). Although this is not the book I thought I would be getting, it does offer some useful psychological insights and exercises.
